I saw those pictures sometime last week. I cannot remember where though. Anyway, it is always exciting to see new things come to the market such as this. The pictures look great and the blaster looks very clean.
Any idea of a price point and will this be available in the US or overseas only?
Otherwise, best of luck to the company that gets the license!

Lovely. I WANNA ONE! NOW!
Some contact email ? Will be interesting include it in my Fan Book Project of Props. This is what I would have of all prop making process for each prop showed in print. Unfortunately, I think this will be no possible.
The bunch of picrures could be sequenced as a video! Nice find!! _________________

Dang! Lotta work going into that thing.
So is this a company that's trying to get a license? Any info on what "features" this blaster will have? _________________ I find your lack of faith disturbing. . . |

Looks to be primarily resin. I wonder if the people who made this is the one Sid claimed to have contacted him in his latest posting in this thread: http://propsummit.com/viewtopic.php?t=786&start=120.
Siderio wrote: | Also I was contacted from who say to me to not more post in this message board because I have not the copyright for my new Blaster. They said "we will have soon the copiright to make an official resin blaster". I decidede that if this is a joke or not I will continue to post here because if a licensed product must be a crap all of us have to know this. A RESIN LICENSED BLASTER??? ALL IN RESIN??? A ONE PIECE OF RESIN AS THE SERENITY"??? I prefer to believe that someone has joking with me. |
This same Japanese blaster was also recently discussed at the RPF: http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=42449 |

The new Blaster is different from the one from RPF forum.
That kit is from here:
http://www4.ocn.ne.jp/~elfin712/welcomto.htm
The new blaster is not a kit, and it will be mostly metal. |

Reposting this from the pit:
Quote: | Sounds like the Sid/Rich situation could be irrelevant soon - the possible license holders sound like they want enforce their rights as the new owners.
Sounds bad - the Japanese kit looks awesome but I'd still like a choice. |
Look, no offense to Sid here, but I've spoken to the WB licensing folks on the phone. Half the time, they don't know who owns the rights to certain items to begin with, and when they defer you to "the partnership" there is no one to call. They don't give you a number. I ended up talking with the archives department about using particular photos in licensed T-shirt designs, and it went no where in a hurry.
There is a reason we're not seeing the usual outside companies produce licensed items for blade runner, and only seeing some small items directly from WB. There is still a huge mess of red tape when dealing with blade runner licensing.
And just because someone may or may not have told Sid they are buying a license, well, that's just talk.
You'd of thought we'd of had a blitz of merch when the final cut hit the streets, right? _________________ I don't have enough blasters! |

Noeland is right. There are no licenses being considered by the BR partnership. Anything so far has just been limited promotional not for sale items that Warner paid for.
Too bad. However I'd heard before that it would take a whole bunch of scratch to even have them consider doing licensing. Doubt it would ever happen.

I even tried to track down whoever controls the Ladd Company holdings to get the photo use rights, since most photos I've seen seen are copywritten to them, and hit a big fat dead end because even though the Ladd Company released films until 2006, they don't seem to be listed. _________________ I don't have enough blasters! |

OK I will offer what I have heard.
I heard from a company that had talked with the Partnership and he said that Jerry wanted $500,000 just to have a sit down with no promise of a deal.
And that the two partners will never agree on any thing.
It took years and a lot of talking for that Game company to get their deal, and it costed them too much.
My 2 cents worth.

Doesn't sound like much of a partnership, does it?
Thanks for sharing that, Rich. _________________ Pete |
