I think I'm the only one who got the ammo box in metal!

From the looks of the kit at Sid's site ALL the ammo BOXES are metal...it's the ammo box cover that's plastic.

I probably got sent the last metal one before they all went plastic. Do you know if he's making the ammo box in plastic?

I got my packages from Pinzerato and here are some pics of the contents:

As you can see, the ammo housing bottom cover comes in two flavors, plastic and metal.

The only things missing from the packages are the trigger guard and the metal bullets (resin bullets are included). I've emailed Pinzerato on these parts. Will update when I get them.

Edit: I was rummaging through the bubble wrap again and found the missing trigger guard! My bad! Anyway, the only missing parts are the metal bullets.

Is it because of customs ?

Yes, he does it to avoid having the package get confiscated by "the authorities", for some bogus reason.

If you look at Sid's online instructions, you'll notice that the gun is pre-assembled; you'll need to dismantle it to paint/blue. I asked Pinzerato to ship it to in kit form instead, specifically to avoid it being seized by customs.

I concur with the "pre-assembled" comment above...
Look what I recieved in the mail this morning!

No assembley required...(other than to change out the clip
cover to the plastic one, add the cylinder and then paint the
whole thing!)
Beautiful Blaster! Thank-you Siderio!!!

The reason for the two Blasters has a very cool story behind it that I
think would be better related by Nexus6 as one of those Blasters is his
and he will undoubtedly cast a more objective eye to the whole thing.

Does the new SidKit come with the two little set screws that screw into the side of the LED housing, one of which has a washer/collar on it?

I saw these on tghe SidKit prototype and on the finished kit pictured on his on-line instructions, but hard to tell if it came with the kits you guys have posted pictures of.

Now that you mention it, those are the only parts I didn't receive.
But my blasters were an exchange for goods so I didn't think to ask about it.

OK, here's the whole thing, in a nutshell.

I was initially just going to add this post to the end of the originating thread, but I didn't want the important parts to get hopelessly lost amidst the blathering & screeching.

In answer to the query as to why Once-bitten has TWO of Siderio's smoking-hot WorldCon's, I must first point you to this exchange (between racprops & Once-bitten), which occurred back in April:

Once-bitten wrote:
I can't GIVE AWAY the C,S,& T I purchased from you...it does make a good door stop however.

racprops wrote:
More Bullstuff.

Andy made a offer for it, sell to Andy or better yet, for running this site GIVE it to him as you feel it is so worthless.

I dare you to put you blaster where your mouth is.

DONE!
FIRST PERSON (besides you Rich OR your X-resin monkey) WHO PM'S ME WITH THEIR SHIPPING ADDRESS WILL RECEIVE AN ORIGINAL RICHARD COYLE C,S&T DOORSTOP(I mean "Blaster".)

I'll even pay for shipping. Twisted Evil

NOW, at this point, I didn't have any desire to own a Coyle WorldCon (due to shoddy workmanship, & Coyle's CMS (Constant Menstrual Syndrome)), BUT I thought that maybe I'd be able to spruce it up enough to auction on e-Bay, & hopefully end up with some money to help me purchase a Sidkit WorldCon.

So I PM'd my address to Once-bitten. I typed like the wind, I say. I'm NEVER lucky enough to stumble across a situation like this. I'm ALWAYS late to the party. Someone will UNDOUBTEDLY beat me to the punch. I had to slow down my typing for fear of unintentionally sending my keyboard back in time. PM sent. I refreshed the thread to find this:

Next week sound ok for shipping Nexus?
Do post pictures won't you?Very Happy

So, we began to e-mail back-&-forth, to hammer out the details, & in talking, O.B. told me that he had originally offered the Coyle WorldCon to Siderio, thinking that he might be able to take some measurements & do some reverse-engineering, to expedite the completion of Siderio's WorldCon. BUT SIDERIO FLATLY REFUSED THE OFFER.

I'm gonna repeat that, because it bears repeating. SIDERIO FLATLY REFUSED TO ACCEPT THE COYLE WORLDCON. Sid's reason was that he didn't want to give Coyle any ammunition (no matter how vaporous & circumstantial) or further reason to squawk.

After we got the details worked out, some time later, O.B. messaged me, & said that Siderio had gotten back with him, wanting to know if the Coyle WorldCon offer was still available. Sid had decided that once he finished HIS WorldCon, that it might be a good selling point to have a Coyle version to use for comparison pictures. O.B. told Sid that the blaster was gone. Siderio then asked O.B. to make me an offer: Coyles WorldCon in exchange for TWO of his WorldCon kits (once they were finished). O.B. presented me with the offer, & since my whole reason for wanting the Coyle was to facilitate acquiring the Sidkit, I accepted enthusiastically.

So the end result is:

1. Once-bitten's orginal ~$500 investment has netted him a solid, well-built, all-metal, spanking-new (Sidkit) WorldCon.
2. I have won a free (FREE) solid, well-built, all-metal, spanking-new (Sidkit) WorldCon. (my lucky day)
3. Sid received a competitor's sample to compare & contrast with his own product.

I tell you, this Sidkit & the JWB Bottle have made my [prop] year. I haven't gotten this many "dream" presents since I was a kid.

Has anyone ordered a kit in the UK yet? If sent in separate parcels would it get through?
