Caprica's director is a Huge Blade Runner fan.
Listening to the commentary it's brought up he constantly references it while shooting.
There is even a scene that is a direct copy of a scene with Tyrell over the shoulder looking through his glasses.
The actor (X-Files smoking man) even has the same style glasses on.
For those that don't know what Caprica is it's a new prequel series of Battlestar Galalctica that takes place 40 years before BSG and covers the creation of the Cylons and the Adama Family.
The Pilot just came out on DVD, not sure when it will be on TV.

Here's a pic of William B. Davis as Minister Chambers in Caprica.
I love the Tyrell glasses!
(Anyone ever look into making reproductions?)
I'm happy that the BR references continue in the new show. |

I got to see William B Davies about 10 years ago at RIT, and I created a bit of a stir. An audience member asked him if his character had really shot JFK, and I yelled "You killed Kennedy", a moment later about half the audience yelled "You bastard". It took a while for the laughter to die down and thankfully he seemed to find it amusing.

I'm glad to hear he has a sense of humor!
CSM was the Man on The X-Files. Easily my favorite character.
Great story, Andy! Did you get to meet him in person afterward? |

No, we tried to get to see him afterwards, but they announced he would not be doing autographs, and had to leave . X-Files was at the height of it's popularity at the time, and the talk was sold out.
I am glad to see another property being used as a way of continuing the exploration of Blade Runner, as was done with Total Recall 2070. As good as BG was though, they will have to do more than just make some similarities to get me excited though

Glad to see that BR is still influencing the newer shows that are coming out. |
