There were sheets of registration marks produced by Zipatone too I think. This was a thin adhesive-backed material. It wouldn't rub down like Letraset, you'd take a knife and cut out the shape you wanted, then peel up the shape carefully, and place it down on your artwork.
The registration marks used to come on rolls of plastic tape too, like scotch tape but with reg marks printed on it.
You'd put the marks on the board and also on the clear plastic flaps, so that the color separations would align. |

I forgot about Zipatone. I used to make pretty cool moiré patterns with it, and used it a lot when I did illustrations for the local paper.
I am pretty sure it Letraset though, because the zipatone only came in black, and the registration marks on the ship are white. You probably would find them on any white letter set. if there are other white letters on the ship itself, it may be the same set.

Oh, okay then.... 
Have to catch up on this forum, been really busy this week. Martin kindly gave some input on the before shot and I have a few more things to do. Once I do one elevation I just line up everything to get the others correct.

| aah I see, you also fixed the bottom angle of the lower Thruster pod, I did not even notice it was off before to be honest..it looks correct with the upward cant along the bottom rather than flat... very cool! |

Cheers, guys.
I only had time for a quick post earlier during lunch, then got slammed at work. I based the Airlock module on the concept art by Stuart Rose earlier on in the thread. Then I made some adjustments to the landing leg too, shortening it and it looks alot better.
The idea behind the airlock chamber is that when not in use, the lift platform and hydraulic 'foot' it moves up and down on are locked in position out the way, then swing down when the airlock is engaged, with the foot dropping down like Stuart's sketch.  |

| That is very cool, I actually noticed your concept of the lift while looking it over, it is very definitive, and about time someone finally sorted it out. I even see how it situates in lowered position based on your diagram. That is going to be the basis of my airlock, you are moving faster now than I can build, and thats a good thing..lots of clean reference! |

WOW Graham, the retracktable airlock idea is excellent !!!
The rendition is awesome, it promises to be very impressive in the end ! (BTW, any idea of the size of the blueprints once they'll be printed ?)

Thanks, Fred. Not sure yet on the size, depends on the scale; probably 24x36. Next size up for a drawing here is 36x48. European drawing sizes are different. We'll see. I'll have technical info, maybe blow-ups of some areas on there too probably. As I'm working I have to kind of think ahead as to how the interiors will be laid out.
Some areas of the interior (exterior will be completed first) will be tricky. |
