Just spotted this on Ebay...

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Blade-Runner-Blaster-M2019-Silicone-Mould_W0QQitemZ250466460859QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_2?hash=item3a50f6e4bb&_trksid=p3286.m63.l1177&_trkparms=%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50

This is a one of a kind to my knowledge silicone mould made from the original BLADE RUNNER BLASTER M2019 used in the movie.

Is it anyone here selling this? If not, i think it's pretty safe to say it's not from an original?

Thoughts?

Not sure what it is from, from the pictures. It looks a little bit like a Rick Ross PKD 2, but I really can't tell. I can say 100% though that it isn't from anything screen used. The butt plate is way too thin and the trigger guard is way too rounded to be a stunt recast. I wish the seller had some pics of some sample casts.

I thought it seemed a bit suspect.
It would be great if there was another mold of an original stunt blaster around, especially if it ended up in the UK Smile

I can safely say with some authority that this is definitely not a mould used for any kind of film production , it appears to be a full blank and a single mould at that , even stunt guns cast in rubber commonly use a two part mould , this looks fan produced to me as the silicon appears to be low grade , any 'reputable' prop shop would use better quality material and different techniques.

Give it a wide bearth.

This is my first post so I hope I'm not crossing any line by posting this but I got this reply when I asked the seller if he had any pics of a blaster cast from this mold:

I do not. I bought this mould from the original owner and have stored it for years. I have not had the time to make any replicas. I wish I had a pic. I will search my file to see if I still have a pic but I don't think I will find one.

Would you by chance be the seller? Your first post and like the seller, you are Canadian too? Sorry, just curious.

Nope definitely not the seller. He's in Ontario and I'm in Alberta, about 3000kms apart...

Welcome jmacpix. I had kind of figured you couldn't be the seller, because I would have expected him to defend our criticisms here. Smile

Thank you for sharing the info you had received and hope you decide to stick around and post some more.

Hey Guys
I was actually watching this auction and I emailed the owner of the molds and offered to make a casting from his mold so he would have a casting to show when he re-lists the molds. He lives about 20min from my house.

I have not had a reply but if I do make a casting I will post pictures on here.

Gary
