The BR JW bottles seem to have been custom made, either for the film or by an artisan prior to the film. The Bottles do not have screw tops as a JW bottle would. A commercial source of this bottle has never been found. That doesn't mean it doesn't exist though.

If that bottle is ever discovered to be a "found object" it seem like finding the true holy Grail of Blade Runner. Everyone of course seeks information about the BR pistol prop making but I think an interview with set dressers from Blade Runner would be astounding. After all it's a set dressing until an actor picks it up making it a prop!

according to an interview with Linda De-Scenna on Blade Zone it was Terry Lewis that was the propmaster. Supposedly Gary W. talked to him about it, but hasn't said anything about it. I am sure if he found them he would be offering some up for sale by now though. I think I asked him about it once and he said they were custom made. But my memory could be wrong on this. It could also have been Phil S. or even someone else. To put it simply, no body yet seems to know for sure.

Another note on the bottle is that the JW bottles actually change from scene to scene. If you look at the scenes from Deckard's apartment while he is using the Esper the bottles change to a different style bottle depending on the camera shot angle and close ups. The other bottle may be a traditional JW black bottle that may have even been filled with actual JWB. Supposedly Ford got plastered on JWB on the last night of filming.

Thanks for the link.
I told a friend once that I was thinking about trying to make one and after watching the scene in Bryant's office she suggested popping a mold off of a large Listerine Bottle!
I thought she was nuts but I took a look and I think she may have been onto something!
It would mean splitting the plastic bottle down the middle and then trimmimg it down until it fit back together farely square. The neck would have to be replaced with something smaller and round.
I figured I could then do a two piece rubber mold on it, cast one up in solid stone, smooth out any imperfections and be left with a wonderful master onwhich to lay up the final mold.
Ofcourse, the bottle should be hollow and that would mean making some kind of core that would fit inside the mold, but then how do you get the positive out of the bottle after it's poured up?
And what material would you pour it up in? Clear plastic?
It may be a simpler task to hire a glass blower...

I forgot about roto-casting as a possibility for pouring up a hollow bottle but I don't happen to have one of those handy little units...

Then of course there is the option of Vacu-form.
The thing I dislike here is that it would be plastic that would have to be created in halves and then joined up somehow.

Any body have some decent screen-caps of the bottle beside's the one provided by Phil Steinschneider?
I've been looking at the first Bryant Scene alot but there just doesn't seem to be a good clear shot of it there.
If anyone has some still's I'd love to see them.

Awesome pics Andy! Much thanks!!
After looking at these I'm scrapping the "Lysterine" bottle idea which I think a few others have tried.
Now that I have a clear shot of the bottom of the bottle that seems to show a square shape protruding(the original bottle?), I'm now thinking that I could sculpt those square shapes right on to a large Johnny Walker Bottle itself.
Who knows, maybe I could attach some acrylic and shape it?
I'm still investigating having some of these bottles made up in glass and it will be nice to have an accurate model as a leaping off point.

Thanks to Andy's great pics of the bottle I have been able to note differences in the label.
Here then is a before and after of the lower label on the bottle...top as it appears on the real bottle, bottom as I see it in the photo of the movie bottle.
This is a proto-type with some tweeking of text still needed.

I just wanted to give credit where credit was do. I couldn't take credit, even implied for someone else's collage and screen capping. I should have given him credit originally.

Here is my interpretation of the label that appears on the side of the cap on the movie bottle, top as it appears on the actual bottle a little below the neck, bottom as it appears on the BR Bottle on the side of the cap.

The main bottle label, top as it appears on the real bottle, bottom as I see it on the BR Bottle.
I had to interpret alot of the text as to it's spacing based off the movie photo.
What do you think?
