Good stuff guys!

I had never known the '55 used in American Graffiti to be the same used in Two Lane Blacktop. Anyone here have a link to that info, I'd love to read up on it.

Ah yes.....but is she the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy? Very Happy

She's the car that did the Blackpool run in under 12 comfort breaks!!! Laughing

Let's not forget that when it came to car chases in the 70's the Yanks may have had the Muscle/Pony cars, but us Brits could still show em a thing or two!!! "Give it some beans George!!!"

I must admit i've never seen the Sweeney Shocked

I was born in '87 so i've got quite a bit of catching up to do, lol.

So much for you to discover, so much for you to enjoy!!!

Now here is a cautionary tale for all of us!

Who would have thought.....the first ever drifting video, lol.

Well, the next time that I get into an Austin/Morris 1100 during the 1970's I'll know not to mix cross-ply and radial tyres!!! Laughing Seriously, they used to show these "Public Information Films" all the time back in the 70's!!! Very Happy

Another movie i really wanna see is The Seven-Ups.
Supposedly it has the best car chase, which doesn't surprise me as it has Bill Hickman at the wheel. He also drove the Charger in Bullitt and you can clearly see him (He's the guy with black glasses)

The Seven-Ups, God yes, an all but forget classic of a movie!!!

Enjoy!!!

Have a better one,

Mike.

P.S. 1987??? God, now I feel really old!!! 1969 Sad

Another classic that is an absolute MUST see is "The Driver" 1978. I can still remember been blown away by the on car camera shots when seeing for the first time back in the day. It would, of course, also inspire the 1999 PS1 game "Driver" must have played that game to death back then!!! Very Happy

I got the 55 stuck down a little earlier, so just the 99 to go.
Next time i'll wait till it's not as windy. Shocked

Anyone checked out the "Public Enemies" movie?

I saw it a few months ago and really enjoyed it.

Love the cars in the movie.

Here's some pics....

Hi Neil,

Glad to hear that the plate is coming along, good luck with it, i'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Not really the weather for it at all is it!!!? Shocked
It's freezing fog now!!! Sad

Thanks again for the info on the Bullitt Charger, very interesting!!! Very Happy

If you'd like to see another classic Charger, in another classic cult 70's car chase movie, then check out "Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry" from 1974. Stars Peter Fonda (Easy Rider), Susan George (Straw Dogs) and Vic Morrow (the psycho Sheriff from "The California Kid") here playing yet another psycho Sheriff!!! Nowadays, so much of this would be done CGI in post-production (think Matrix Reloaded) back then the actors were allowed to do many of their own stunts and they used real cars, a real helicopter and a real locomotive!!! Cool There was downside to such realism, of course, namely, danger! Eight years later Vic Morrow and two children would be killed while filming an action scene for "Twilight Zone: The Movie" when the stunt helicopter crashed onto them, Morrow died instantly, decapitated by the rotor blades.

No chance of these Chargers ever turning up I'm afraid!!! Two 1969 and one 1968 model Dodge Chargers were used in the film. One '69 was destroyed in the climactic train crash, the '68 model was scrapped, and the remaining '69 model was sold to a crew member from the film, but was subsequently totalled in a traffic collision in the late 1970s!!! Crying or Very sad

The finale of film has become something of a legend, it sure came as a complete shock to me the first time I saw it!!! Shocked In fact, it is often stated as being one of the most shocking/surprising endings in cinema history. The same footage would later be used, every week, in the opening credits of the '80s TV series "The Fall Guy" Surprised

The license plate got blown away at one point, lol. Glad I got to it before it got blown away completely.

Oh man.
I'm lost for words right now......

I hope he was ok.
Sorry to hear about the car.
It's such a shame when movie history is lost forever.

This reminded me of the '69 Fastback Mustang from Bullitt.
A crew member bought the car when filming finished.
I think Steve McQueen tried to buy it at some point from him but he didn't sell, I don't think I would either.
Not sure where the car is now, I don't think anybody knows.

Here's another cool idea, a business card for "Argo's", the company that Kowalski works for.

I used a logo creator that i found on the net.
At the end it wants me to buy it but i just pressed the "PrntScrn" button and edited out all the crap in Paint.
Wish i still had Photoshop Sad

(Added a glittery watermark thingy Very Happy)

Just made it quickly but I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.
You choose the logo and things from a few examples so not really much choice over most of the parts.

I'm gonna try a few other's and see what they look like.

LOL Laughing Arrr yes, the old "bulldozers in the road" clause, tucked away in the small print!!! Very Happy The small print continues; "However, should we lose, misplace or in any way happen to crash your car (whilst in the possession of an Argo's Car Delivery Service 'Known Driver') we offer the use of a free, complimentary, Chrysler Imperial in the colour of your choice, as long as its Black"!!! Laughing

We should come up with a poster or something.

Here's some more business cards...

As we don't know his first name, something hard to pronounce, i called him Barry. For obvious reasons Smile

The telephone number and address is just from the template aswell.

I know there wasn't the internet or email back then, i just got a bit carried away. lol.

Thanks for the link Neil! Hey don't you go selling yourself short mate! I just took a look at that site, and yeah, I probably could put together something like the stuff that you did. Only I'd need every last minute of that 15 hours to do it in!!! Very Happy And then I'd probably crash the bloody laptop anyway!!! Laughing

Anyway, here are another couple of "Public Information Films" from the 70s!!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ojHWOiA4Xk
We can only hope that the biker was killed. He could never have lived with the shame of been slow enough to be hit by a Morris Marina!!! Very Happy

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBijwacN_qA&feature=related
A tragic, needless waste... of a MkIII Cortina!!!
The man with the CHIN is Jimmy Hill, ex footballer, who presented "Match of the Day" for over 250 years!!! Laughing This film is presented in the style of the "post match analysis" he used to do on MOTD.

Have a better one,

Mike.
