Wow! That is fantastic! The facial movement is amazingly life like. It would be interesting to see how independent it actually is at this point. Without knowing if the programmer is doing any manipulation during this example it is hard to say how far along this "android" actually is. Otherwise, a very convincing performance!!

I work with some synthetic speech recognition systems and other things along these lines... it's amazing what they're capable of doing in this area now, even more so than what you see in the video. I can guarantee that there is noone behind the scenes manipulating Jules either.... it's all responses generated on the fly by the processor after it listens to what is being said. They can even incorporate spacial sensors to include information about where everyone is in the room relative to Jules, what their posture or position is.... very cool stuff.... |
