Hi all,
Not exactly a prop, but I recently picked up a Hot Toys Dallas figure. Got a great deal on him and he's now on display with the rest of my Alien collection.
The detail on this figure is just amazing! Everything from the sculpt to the deco is A+. Even Dallas' likeness is done superbly well.
I'm really glad to add this piece to my Alien display.
Now I'm thinking about trying to add the Kane figure, too! _________________ I find your lack of faith disturbing. . . |

Yeah, I just can't get over the detail on this figure. I can see why Hot Toys pieces sell for what they do.
On the back of the pants there's even a slightly raised triangle where the patch should go. But it's just blank. I'm considering trying to print one on an adhesive address label. I'll have to take a look and see if I have a good image. It would have to be reduced to a fraction of an inch but I think it would be a cool added touch. _________________ I find your lack of faith disturbing. . . |

I went ahead and did the patch for the back of the pants.
As I mentioned above, there's a blank raised area already there and I just took a pic I had of the patch from my Nostromo jacket and reduced it till it fit the triangle pretty well.
Then just a quick print on adhesive back paper, and done!
A quick before and after pic.
I'll have to give it a couple of days to see if it will remain adhered to the rubbery material of the suit. If not, I'll try a different paper with stronger adhesive.
I know it's just a tiny detail that will hardly ever be seen, but I figured what the heck! Now it's a "customized" figure. _________________ I find your lack of faith disturbing. . . |

For you and anyone else that needs them....rescaled them up so they would show on here clearly; you'll need to rescale them again to print, but you can use the nameplate for his chestplate at least.

Yeah, I drew them up a while ago and used them on my figures. |

OK, last comp shots!
Space Jockey's graphics are wonderful! I sized them for the figure and did the same process, printing them onto adhesive paper.
Here's the patch on the pants again. The raised blank on the left, my "amateur" graphic in the middle, and SJ's patch on the right. Much better and with greater color saturation.
Here's the stock name plate with the new graphic on the right. Very fine work indeed!
Thanks very much for sharing, Space Jockey! You're an excellent artist. _________________ I find your lack of faith disturbing. . . |
