If I use chrome in a spray, it's Krylon...always spray chrome on a black background (better result in my book). Probs with these products is that some of the paint has to dry for at least 24/48 hours before spraying another coat. Also the temp/humidity are very important factors, more so with the chrome, but yeah: it's often a hit/miss type of situation |

Yes, the weather is terrible right now. Cold and rainy.
I'm afraid the label is going to be a bit big. The bottom one fine, but the angled one, I'm not so sure. The plastic is thin too. I was pressing a cap down to get a good fit and the bottle actually caved in a little. Scared me sh#tless, but I don't see any damage. |

I use Rub N Buff for metal effects. Spray a base coat of gloss black and then apply and polish the rub n buff with a cloth. It works best for shelf sitters, as handling it makes it look dull. Although, you can re-buff it. _________________ Wait; I'm having one of those things! You know; a headache with pictures? |

How close in width is the center section of this BR bottle to an actual JWB bottle? The OB bottle is pretty much the same width, so aside from getting the angle right, the label wasn't a problem. _________________

I think the width in the center is 2 1/4 inches. I'll have more pics soon. I found a nice sized cap for it finally and have the labels attached. |

Here are the two bottles side by side. They both have their good points and bad points. I'll let you be the judge.

Any details on what cap you used for the plastic bottle? _________________

Beautiful job, but I still prefer the O.B. one: closer to the film look. |

Looks like a Finlandia cap on the OB bottle.
Takes a bit of work thinning down the inside of the cap to get it to fit on the OB bottle without breaking the plastic of the cap, but well worth the effort once you get the cork secured to the cap. _________________

Finlandia Vodka.
I love the NYzeki bottle and will add one to my collection when possible, although i think it may be a little too clean and sharp, but that could be right up some peoples alley.
Those who missed out on the original are very lucky to get another opportunity. Will be keeping the 2019 sticker off the plastic bottle though as its
purely a product of the O.B project, just my 2 cents. _________________ Formerly offworld66 |

Both caps have been painted. I almost went with duplicolor aluminum because it has the most consistent finish, but I wanted shiny, so I reluctantly sprayed a light coat of Rustoleum chrome on both. There are imperfections, but not very noticeable.
The OB cap came from a bottle of Suave Professionals Styling Foam I believe. I have been through a few caps. Just browse the ladies' and haircare sections in the store and you will find plenty of caps.
The NZ cap came from a can of Exclamation cologne Body Spray. It is larger than the OB cap but that was because the NZ bottle has a rather large lip. I had to sand the ribs out of the inside, but this took all of five minutes with the Dremel tool with a sanding drum.
Both caps had a tiny hole in the top. I believe this is to let air escape. That is why I used the round labels on both caps. To cover these holes. If you don't have a label, you can always fill and sand the hole because it is going to get painted anyway.
Both seals and ribbons are from OB stock. He started to use a lighter colored wax later on. I figured I'd put the lighter color on the NZ bottle to add a little differentiation between the two.
That's real scotch whiskey in both as well. I just bought a jug of the cheap stuff. |

Found that the cap off one of the little Mitchum roll on deodorant bottles will not only fit this bottle without looking too big, but the threads on the cap will match those on the bottle. Pics when the paint dries... _________________

After thinking about it for a bit while the paint dried, I decided to leave the cap black like on current bottles of JWB. I have the OB bottle with the silver cap for my screen accurate version, and this one is intended as a more regular use decanter. Judge for yourselves:

I believe Paul is finally sold out of them. The last intact one went for about $700 in less than an hour. The last cracked one went for about $450.
They come up for sale here once in a while but they are not cheap. |
