That is fascinating! That Person's "Draken" was actually used in BR, and I've missed it all these years is ... astounding.
Spectacularly good catch, Andy! |

I looked through the whole movie, and extras, and this is the only "Green" dragon I see, and I never found the Albert E. neon. There was one other time I thought I could see the Dragon, but it was facing the same way and missing the circle as well. The neon signs in this movie were reused over and over again and moved around to look like multiple signs. I see no evidence of another Green Dragon in the film. Dr Neon's memory may be a little off.

There IS a green dragon neon sign in Blade Runner. Somewhere. The EEG guys photographed a lot of the neon and cut up the transparencies to use on the miniatures. (They made little light boxes and glued the transparencies to the front.)
Problem is, the Dr. Neon guy's dragon is not THE one. The one in the film has the dragon's rear legs on a circle with the number '1' in it.
If I could post images here, it would be easier to show you.

You can post images here. When you reply you see the IMG button? You use that, and it will allow you to post a URL with an image from a third party photo site. if you don't have a third party site like photobucket to upload photos to, we have a button, top right among the controls it says UPLOAD and will allow you to upload directly to the server here.
You can also manually type in these, if you don't want to use the button:
(No spaces though) _________________ I don't have enough blasters! |

Thanks for the tip. I didn't see the upload button (and I don't use Photobucket or Flickr).
Anyways - here's the photo of the green dragon in BR:
Looking at the other posts, this IS the dragon behind Deckard in the Zhora aftermath.
This is the Noodle Bar white dragon and you can see it is quite different:
I was under the impression that a good deal of the neon came from "One From the Heart" and that the rest was locally made. I guess if Dr. Neon was in LA at the time, he could have worked on it.

Great pics Gene...thanks for sharing! Could, should, would; all present conditional (wich means nothing really, just to remind people about their tenses ) yeah, he could've worked on BR, but so far we have no news on that info. As I said before, I stand corrected on that one, even after viewing BR soooo many times, you'll end discovering more and more layers everytime (I'm sure that, one day, a University will offer a PhD course on BR ). |

Yep, That looks like the same Dragon above Zhora's body with the number 1 in the circle. This time with the circle, 1, and foot neon working though. Also in the color green, not red. It does look flipped the other way though. I had also heard that much of the Neon was reused from Coppola's 'One from the Heart', or made locally, and often paid for by the named companies.
Oh, and welcome to propsummit Gene,

I did not get the follow up information i was waiting to get from Dr Neon and neither from the actual seller. I think it is safe to assume with everybodys input into this debate that the neon was not as advertised. _________________ More human than human |

There is no way that is same green Dragon, Neon is so fragile that it would be amazing that there are any originals around, Size would also be something to consider. My 2 cents. |

And if original, you'll have to replace some of the neon lights. I know that they're some neon houses in the movie business that rents neon signs for movies, but everything is always re-furbished and build with the latest neon tech to make sure they work |
