I don't know man... mine seems to shoot real bullets just fine; a .full tilt .44 special 200 grain bullet going down the pipe doesn't seem to be an issue. But some of the doo-dads that stick out could be an issue-- the fake "laser" sight on the left side and the forward facing knob on the right. I've fixed the forward facing knob with internal steel reinforcing. Re the fake sight, I steel riveted mine into the *top* left side of the pewter Steyr receiver just above the cylinder shroud, it is NOT attached to the left cylinder shroud like the original prop, where it would surely wreck a pewter gun. The fake cylinder also has a copper tube in its center, so I don't think that puppy will go anywhere. That's one failure point for a pewter shroud I think I correctly assessed in advance and circumvented. But if the holster screws up something, those are the only possible two things. The structure is pretty well stabilized by having an actual steel/aluminum Bulldog pistol inside for attaching things to. For example the Steyr receiver screws right into the Bulldog's steel top strap. The decorative pewter grip cover screws directly into the Bulldog's aluminum grip frame, and at five points! The right side Steyr cylinder shroud screws into the steel frame. The left side Steyr cylinder shroud screws into the Bulldog's steel cylinder swing arm. The plastic Steyr magazine is secured to both the barrel's ejector rod cover as well as the steel leading edge of the Bulldog frame. Go back and have a look at my original post's photos. It's pretty strong.
I've started to rework the Bulldog's top rail, in anticipation of getting a functional laser sight installed under the Steyr receiver shroud (I won't be putting what looks to me like a horizontal mini-minaret in the center of the Steyr's front receiver plug). Already have a small cheapo laser made for guns (e.g. it can deal with shock and vibration) that should work well. When installed, this will make it the only PKD shooter in the world you can actually aim!

Yes, but the guns are pretty close in over all dimensions. I did omit the width though which I believe shows more variation in size. The MiM is another name for the Offworld because they were the main retailer for them. For more clarification on the terminology check here...

Seconded.
We're all more educated thanks to your dedicated work, Andy.
I'm gonna see if i can take the side on shots of my blaster tomorrow (or whenever possible)
I think mine is an early Coyle, maybe the same as your V3 Andy.
Will take some shots anyway.

I need to get a photo booth built so I can take some good close ups and detail shots of each.

Great pics man, superb detail, I really like the color of the amber grips most accurate shade I've seen so far. Can you see more of the exposed white wires from a different angle, or is that how it is / as you requested?
Cheers,

I especially like the way these latest pics of your Pro emphasize the glossy finish on the chamber housing. Beautiful and very accurate IMHO.

Thanks Prodigal!
I have been a pro photographer in the past, though these are shot outside (obviously, not in the studio).
However, I always try to replicate the real look of the items (3D, light, etc.)

I wanted to add to the mix.
Here is my Tomenosuke PRO kit. And a steel barrel from DaveG. "Precious photos" are from Kurtboy here on the board. They seem to belong together.
The last piece of this puzzle will be new amber grips from Proper and I can close the book on this prop I've wanted since 1982. (I don't think the full size spinner is going to happen.
)

Test fitting of all the parts before I build the trigger groups! I airbrushed clear red on the backs of the grips to get a more amber color, quite happy with how they turned out.

I'm curious, can anyone provide the measurements for Rick Ross' "magnum" model? Or is that already listed here? |
