I recently picked up one of Shawn's new NOSTROMO pistols. Here are a few pictures comparing it to his previous offering. Both kits are incredible. And I'm glad I got both of them.

This first one is a side-by-side, mainly for size comparisons. The KANE pistol on the left and the new DALLAS one on the right.

And finally the scopes on the top. The KANE pistol has a real scope that Shawn included with the kit. The DALLAS kit has a resin cast one but it should look perfect once painted.

I had a hard time photographing the new grip. But pictures were posted earlier in this thread, I believe. It's amazing how comfortable the new grip is in the hand. Shawn stated that he was able to cast a real grip.

The changes are subtle until compared side by side. Along with the near-perfect casting, Shawn sent along a well detailed painting guide. I'm really looking forward to painting the pistol up soon. My KANE version has very slight weathering but I think I may go back and make it a bit heavier. The flash really washes my dry-brushing out.

I HIGHLY recommend this kit to anyone considering getting one. Even if you have an older version, this one really is worth the upgrade. Plus, Shawn is just one of the nicest people to deal with I've encountered on these boards.

Looking forward to your next effort. Any truth to the rumor you are working on a flame unit?

I'm sorry I didn't see your post earlier, but thank you very much for the kind words. I'm very glad that you're happy with the kit. I wish I could explain why some props seem to have burned themselves into my brain as deeply as they have, but I'm clearly in the place where I don't really have to. lol

And yes, I am in the process of reffiting and retooling both the A L I E N nostromo incnerator unit as well as the USCM flame unti from ALIENS, which will actually be completed first. Hopefully I can have some nice photos of the master pattern before the end of the year!

I'm as anxious as everyone else to see progress on this kit. But I'm right in the middle of the silly season. As soon as I get some work done on the kit, I will post pictures.

Should I just mail you a checkbook? My favorite is the original flame unit. Although the sequel piece would look good next to a pulse rifle. NOW STOP MAKING SUCH INCREDIBLE STUFF!
