Hi all!

I recently bought a 1960s desk telephone at a market, and the seller swore that it featured in X-Men First Class.

I liked the phone so don't mind whether it did or not - but he said that a lot of his items were sourced from movie prop houses.

Does anyone know the channels through which movie props are cleared? I'd love to go to one. I know Brooklyn has something similar, but I'm in London - so anywhere in the UK!

Thanks very much. > !>

Christie's has two locations in London, but you'd better bring a fat wallet ...

Yeah thanks very much - have Googled to no avail.. and suspect that the man at the market didn't go to Christie's!

I would think there are outlets in the same way the police and MOD have auctions. But maybe they're secret...

It's more and more difficult to find good stuff for affordable price at antique markets/auction or even garage sales Confused Since the advent of the web, Ebay and various Prop stores and TV programs (Pawn Stars & others) more people know the value of "things" (any things).
Ah the days of finding a Graflex for $25 is over or a Casio MQ-11 for under $50...you gotta live on the Moon not to know

Remember, as soon as it becomes popular it becomes expensive because the demand for it goes up...welcome to our capitalistic society.
