A L I E N left a huge impression on me when I saw it as young person, and out of all it's amazing elements the one that really stood out (after literally bursting onto the screen) is of course the chestburster. A creature that while has been seen in every ALIEN film that followed, has never been equaled, let alone surpassed in it's design. And despite all the incredible replicas of facehuggers and full size warriors, I had never seen a chestburster that really captured the creepy 'porpoise-like' look of the original Roger Dicken sculpt.

Well, all good things come to those who wait. And those who spend nearly 30 years gathering every bit of reference they can and who through a mutual friend eventually finds a crazy talented sculptor who shares your same obsession...

His name is Tim, and some of you may have seen his work at MONSTERPALOOZA last month. After sculpting the piece he cast it in a tinted resin that allows light to show through it. He even captured the lopsided flippers!

I was blown away, and I hope you are, too.

A very detailed work. Impressive.
I already saw similar work by Spaceart.

Ha, that looks great. I never knew the arms were like that on the movie, that's interesting.

One might psychoanyalyze, but for whatever reason, I was also fascinated by this endoparasitoid at this stage of development. From my first viewing back in May of '79, I was blown away then, as I am now. Giger's original design's were brilliant, as were the contributions of Rambaldi and Dicken.

I too have wished for a more accurate reproduction of the infant xenomorph, having purchased Halcyon's vinyl kit years ago, and finding it sadly lacking. Should this work ever become available in any form, count me in.

Thanks to MorganThirteen for sharing this, but especially to Tim for his creation of this incredible little masterpiece. No small feat.
