So let's get down to it, guys...
Has anyone seen vehicle stats on Prometheus? Curious to see how she compares to her poor cousin Nostromo. The Verizon plans don't include dimensions. |

I haven't seen any official stats but I think the Nostromo is VAST compared to Prometheus. HUGE in fact. Look at Nostromo's engine rooms for a start, and Prometheus' garage. Off the top of my head I'm gonna say that Nostromo is at least 4 times the size of Prometheus. |

Nostromo: ex-military vessel converted to a raffinery puller=lot's of power and huge compared to Prometheus.
Prometheus: research-exploration vessel=small: no need to land on planets and sometime difficult access with a freakin' vessel the size of a small city |

That's interesting joberg, I've never heard the Nostromo was ex-military, where's that from? |

I think it was mentioned(on this board or others) that the first paint job for the Nostromo was yellow and that the vessel was powerful enough to tow a space raffinery(maybe too powerfull, since the raffinery platform has its own engines and turbines). I don't recall the specifics exactly, but I'm sure others who are more familiar with the story will chime in |

Yeah you're definitely correct on the yellow paintjob, I think it was based on the design that Brian Johnson pulled off the wall believing it was one of Foss's (when in fact it was a Cobb design). I always thought the yellow was just what the model makers went with based on the design drawing, rather than any military designation. Of course, I believe Ridley was the one responsible for ordering the grey paintover. |

He was; happened about the same time I think as the cathedral-like spires being taken off the Refinery, too. |

That image is part of the concept art done for the movie that has been released over the last week on various websites (AVP Galaxy is one of them). |

@SJ: So, given the length of the 'Juggernaut', it must be about as Nostromo? |

Nostromo length at 1,095 ft is the absolute minimum it can be without the Narcissus looking weird and completely off-scale when under the 'wing', and tying up the scale of the Narcissus cockpit against the bridge of the Nostromo. |

So, here's a quick-n-dirty scale comparison.
Visit Jeff's site, if you've never been there before: www.merzo.net/
Great for comparing ship scales. Maybe he'll do a Juggernaut and Prometheus since this graphic is now available for more accurate scaling? |
