I could go with a mother of pearl grip, but not much more Dave
Sure Gaff looks a lot like the "East L.A." type, but I think that his outfit is flashy enough...maybe the gun could be more "classy"? |

Just confirmed my order with Mune! And I still qualified for the police kit.
Looking forward to this.

Hi,
Could you please post or PM Mune's contact details?
Do I understand he's the agent for US sales of the kit?
I ordered a kit through a friend in the USA and we haven't had any communication back of any kind.
Any help much appreciated.

When I ordered mine, I used the online form but then I actually just pasted the email address into my regular email and sent all the pertinent information. One of these produced an instant reply.

Thanks very much.
I've sent the info to my friend in the US who's ordering on my behalf.
I don't know which method he used, but I suggested he do the other too.
Thanks,
Karl |

My friend in the US tried both methods of contact and got a reply right away from Mune.
Order confirmed, so we can still order as of yesterday....
The email said we'd be informed when the kits are shipping. No payment was requested at this time.
Thanks for the help guys.

Anyone else had trouble with the email address, mine keeps coming back as undelivered. If you use the email link on the order page it comes up with an ecommerce email box, however, as I don't know what the Japanese wording says I just emailed using my normal email program, but it won't send. Any ideas? |

Never had any problems. It's possible their mail servers have your mail server blacklisted as a spam source. It happens more often than most people think. |

That crossed my mind too. Somebody gave me Mune's email so hopefully he will add me to the list. |

Okay, so I have been pondering ordering one of these for a while but have been a bit put off by the UK Firearms laws / customs etc, so I decided to take the bull by the horns and contacted HMRC (Customs and Excise) directly and asked the question. Whilst the guy on the phone would not give any guarantees (fairly typical of people in his position I guess) he did confirm what I had suspected that this kit did not fit any of the definitions relating to firearms etc. and he could see no reason why there should be any problems with UK customs provided any import duties etc were paid. So mine has hopefully been ordered. Hopefully you UK buyers will find this info useful (just don't blame me if it goes wrong!) |

Thanks for the info. Yeah considering its in parts and the major gun parts are plastic I don't see the problem. If it doesn't get through it should be sent back to Japan and they will refund you. Hopefully that is the case and they don't just destroy it!
I rang up a local gunsmith on this matter and he doesnt see any problem ordering this in. I wonder if one can appeal if it does get held up? _________________ "F*ck it, it's just a movie. Let him worry about it" Harrison Ford |

Hi there. I'm new here but I see a lot of familiar names from the RPF. I got my name on Mune's list for two PRO Blaster kits and look forward to finally owning a great replica of one of my Holy Grail props.
I want to build the kit on a real Charter Arms Bulldog and was wondering if this was the proper thread for posting a few photos of the gun I'm considering buying. I'd love some advice from the experts on whether or not it would make a good base for the Tomenosuke parts.
Thanks,

Welcome on Propsummit David (saw your handle on the RPF also).
You'll have to talk to Rich (Racprop) and Eltee and others who used a real Charter Gun to make the one seen in the movie...depends of what you want to do with it of course (not for the faint of heart, I must warn you ).
And keep us updated about the Tome kit. |

Make sure you get the older "Charter Arms" .44 special and not the newer "Charter Arms 2000" .44 Pug as a few of the smaller parts and cylinder arm are different. |

Thanks for the replies. I'll send a PM to the members you mentioned. I've read through all the threads and have seen the great work they've done, so I'm sure they'll know the answer. If anyone is curious, I'll post the photos here once I know something. _________________ "I shoot better when I move." - The Sundance Kid |

There is a few threads about this project.
Please search for them a lot of your questions will be answered.
Be warned the Charter bulldog is a cheap gun a Saturday Night Special so a old one is risky and maybe weak, so use only blanks.
If your really going to fire rounds I suggest getting a new one.

Thanks very much for the response, Rich. At this point I have read every thread I could find, including Eltee's excellent one about his firing version. My question was more related to making certain I had the right model. I believe I do. It's an older .44 special. It's blued but I'll strip it down, which is what I believe they did for the original prop?
It is a well used gun so it would definitely be used only with blanks. I want to avoid a new one for the reason Hirohawa posted above regarding changes in the frame. _________________ "I shoot better when I move." - The Sundance Kid |
