UPDATE: I received a reply from Italy. They gave me the name of official distributor for the U.S. - Clearly Art (http://clearlyart.net/site2006.htm)

She said that the rep will be contacting me shortly. I told her I was probably interested in aroud 20 glasses. Now I need to know if you guys are really serious. I don't want to jerk this guy's chain if there is no commitment. I will try to get a price breakdown as soon as possible.

Thanks,
John

UPDATE 10.18.07: All I can say is I am floored by the price Clearly Art is wanting to charge. For a case of 6 they want $439 shipped to my door. That's $73.10 before I even ship them to you guys. What a fucking rip-off. I replied to the representative explaining that just a few years ago I only paid $37.50 per unit. I also referenced Tuscan Hills $56 retail pricing. We'll see how he replies. For now though, it looks like either Phil or Tuscan Hills is your best bet.

I'll provide an update as soon as I hear something. Sorry the news couldn't be better. Although I think it may be because they are aware of the Blade Runner connection. They even mention it in their catalog.

My policy is to never reveal this sort of info to a contractor. They always manage to gouge you later once they see something could be popular.
Too bad they now know.

Well it looks like Tuscan Hills or Phil is the best bet. Here is the reply to my last email I sent to Clearly Art.

"Thank you so much for your kind reply. We entered into a partnership with Arnolfo di Cambio in 2001, when the euro/US$ exchange rate was below 90% (we are now exchanging at about 1.45!). Furthermore the price includes freight & insurance to door. We normally do not sell to retail customer directly, but we quoted you in consideration of the fact that we do not have any distributor nor agent at the moment in Phoenix. Tuscan Hills is a very good client of ours and we certainly suggest that you contact them for a purchase ($56 is indeed a good retail price, probably reflecting a pre price increase situation: we were forced to adjust our list upward on October 1st)."

BOLLOCKS! Sad

That does indeed suck...
Have you talked to Phil yet?
I seem to recall him mentioning a sliding scale on his pricing if bought in larger quantities.
Who knows? He might even make you an extra special deal considering it's all people from the Summit that are buying.

Here's Phil's chart, still no better than $50 each before shipping...

Well, I bit the bullet and made a plea to Phil asking him if he could go below the $50 per glass level for a bunch of BR Enthusiasts...here is his response:

"Paul,
How many glasses are we talking about?
If I have to send them to multiple addresses, shipping will be extra.
Also, due to the Euro/Dollar exchange rate, prices on these are going
up soon."

So I guess that we need to figure out how many glasses we are talking about and get some money together?
If we can get them all shipped to my address, I can handle shipping them to all you guy's as long as we are talking in the USA. It's a little side benefit at my work, though I have never used it EN MASS before, I can ship UPS FREE. Let me know guy's...clocks ticking on this one.

I'm guessing from lack of response that you guy's have lost interest?

Completely understood...I'm a little busy right now myself.

I'll let Phil know.

Actually, I think Phil would go cheaper than the $50 mark...but he didn't say for sure. I got the impression he wanted to know how many we wanted before he set his price.

OK...
I don't feel too bad about keeping Phil waiting on an answer as he kept me waiting for a reply from him almost a week.
We'll have to see what he say's when I get back to him with a number.
I'm in for at least two at this point.
Which I believe makes the total to stand at 3 so far.
Anybody else?

From the lack of interest here I've decided to let Phil off the hook.
As I mentioned earlier I'm a little busy right now so it's probably for the best.

This was a good idea before the dollar started to tank. I have a feeling it is only going to get worse too.

No doubt about it.
I have started to notice the price going up on EVERYTHING and have you noticed the "Help Wanted" and "Now Hiring" signs popping up everywhere?
I just heard back from Phil who say's "no worries, thanks for the interest."
