I received this from a friend down under: As I don't know his propsummet handle I will not post any names.

Hi Rich,

The legislation has slightly changed, unfortunately, I need to get a permit which will cost $200 to import the assembled gun. However, I can import an unassembled gun in kit form, as long as I don't assemble it in the future, not sure how they are going to police that! Crazy ass Australian law.

Thanks for the info Rich...I can see the collections of the future: a dissassembled gun in a shadow box; what a beauty that could've been if fully built Confused

I did this thread over on the RPF and have gotten so many informed answers I feel the best thing to do is give the link to it.

It is a lot more complex than I was given to understand.

Thanks Rich, as we see it's the same kind of debacle as the U.K.: standards are not applied accross the board in the same fashion and it's up to Custom to interpret the law Evil or Very Mad
