I present my just finished Blade Runner Blaster - "The Ghost"

Had to give this a shot after seeing the awesome Tomenosuke silver blaster and especially after Karl Tate posted those newer pics. Luckily Richard Coyle made an awesome set of clear grips that are super super clear so off I went. Wanted mine to be all silver so started with a Worldcon Sidkit as this version has metal Steyr ammo housing and magazine. After a ton of sanding and polishing I am done.

Sidkit Worldcon base blaster Has been heavily modified with:

- Richard Coyle Outer Grip frame
- Richard Coyle Clear grips
- Richhard Coyle inner grip frame
- Don Parker Aluminum buttplate
- Don Parker Steel Site Rod
- Mspaw Steel barrel
- Real oversized WWII EE8 binding post from Andy here on the boards
- All bolts have been replaces with Stainless Steel
- Clear blue LEDS in ammo housing
- Blue LEDs in site rod
- Stainless steel slotted screw from hardware store
- Tomenosuke .44 rounds to honor original version that inspired this build.

This build would have been impossible without all the great talent on this board making parts and sharing info.

Thanks all!

Nice. That would weigh quite a lot since nearly all metal parts. Shocked

Thanks all! It was a fun project.

There are nowhere near that many scratches on the actual blaster. These digital SLRs can be brutal with the "details" they sometimes pic up.

The Don Parker site rod has been pre drilled so basically you have to solder the wires for the first LED - 4 wires total for both the other site rod LED as well as the wires leading out the rod to connect with the rest of the LEDs/power source.

Feed it through without too much wiring for second LED.

Not a fun thing to do and my least favorite part as I always suck at wiring.

Take your time and have an awl and some needle nose pliers.

If you have a swear jar in your home stop by an ATM before you start.

Those LEDs are fun ain't they....

I run the wires out of the rod and THEN join them to one pair of wires on the back side of the cover for the way down and out of the cover, tight connections and small shrink tubing is needed.

I would suggest getting a small set of Hemostats.

Nicer and smaller than needle nose pliers and they can be locked.

That looks great...

Nice Job.

Rich

Wow. Looks fantastic. That's a long time dream of mine too. It's crazy how good those clear grips look with an all silver blaster, and blue LED's.

Very well done. I feel your pain on the wiring. I'm atrocious with that too.

Thanks! Been wanting to do this build for awhile the Tomenosuke version really pushed it even further to reality.

I really really hare wiring and dread that part of every build.

Well some good news for all if you want to recreate one of these.

Richard Coyle and I spoke and he is going to be doing a run of these "GHOST" Blasters in all metal - Rich will be creating some special metal castings for the ammo housing. So for anyone wanting an all metal Silver Blaster with some clear grips just reach out to Rich or wait for his imminent announcement.

Good times.

OK after some consideration I am going to officially offer a Silver Ghost model.

And I will make a new Metal casting mold for the Ammo Housing.

The next Question is the LEDs, I am with the Blue LEDs for the Ammo Clip/Mag, but I think the green LEDs should stay and be high brightness like the Blues..

I have considered the difference in doing these, there is a tradeoff, less paint and chemical treatment BUT more work in casting insuring the best metal castings, (no filler and paint to cover minor flaws..) and more sanding and polishing.

Also there is the added cost for the clear grips which will also need new molds.

I am also considering offering White and Black grips for those that want them and matching Ammo Clips if some want them.

So I figure these will run $1600.00 plus shipping.

I will also look for Silver Brass, (Nickel Plated?) but considering the shortage in brass I cannot count on getting any, I had to do a big internet hunt the last two times to get the ammo for the past runs.

This will happen only if at least ten sign up.

So post in the prop shop ( http://propsummit.com/viewtopic.php?t=4508 ) AND email me at racprops@cox.net to get on the list.

Thanks.

Rich
