Very Cool! Over 20 signed up.
Thanks again to ALL who have thrown their hat in the ring on this.
To quote a certain Princess though..."It's not over yet."
I'm starting to feel a little like the kid who packed the really good snow-ball and rolled it down the really steep hill next to the really big freeway...

andy wrote: | This may actually back up Phil's claim to some degree, since both movies were made about the same time period it could still have been in the prop collection when Annie was made. I still feel it is most likely a found item (a rare one of course), and it as I think many of the props including the police armor were molded off of 'found' masters, it would back up the vacuum formed versions as well. I am still holding out for a large source of these ready to come out of hiding as soon as the bottle is ID'd, I am still behind the bottle project as well. |
Some of the JW bottles featured in BR do look kind of proppy (I know what I mean, not made of 'real' glass) The one in the Esper photo looks frosted unlike the Annie one(although this could have been added by the art dept)
Whatever, Annie was made at around the same time as BR as you say AND it was filmed at Burbank, so I guess the current home of the bottle (if it's not already been pilfered by 'private collectors') is most likely to be some vast Warner Bros property warehouse. |

You had to go and say 'vast warehouse'

Looking at some of those Annie screen caps, it looks to me like the bottle isn't actually square, but a bit more on the rectangular side, I could be wrong though. One thing I am pretty sure of is that the bottom's a bit wider than the top.
Here's a revised sketch. I've excluded the cap in order to keep the focus on the overall bottle shape. As before feel free to repost or modify this image as needed.

Thank you, Phil!
By the way, I really enjoy the Cibi glass I got from you a while back!
Hopefully, I may have a bottle to go with it soon! |

Awesome sketch Loyalizer!!!
As well, I split some posts from this thread into their own thread discussing the Deckard Wallet. _________________ www.propsummit.com

AHHhhhh...THAT must be where my last post here went!
I was confused for a moment.
Thanks for keeping this topic on track Amish!
GREAT WORK ON THE BOTTLE SKETCH LOYAL!!!
I too have noticed that "Off Square Look"
Is it just my eye or does it also seem to be a little wider at the base of the neck on the real bottle?
I know...I'm a picky BASTARD.

Thats a great find from Annie. good work on the screenshots precinct.
This bottle could be older than we think. Looks like it was tailored for a cork like a wine bottle.
The lady's husband got back to me and said (as I suspected) that the bottle I saw was round and that he had never seen one shaped like the one in the sketch.
If this bottle was made specifically for blade runner than I don't see the sense in making just the one and then making a few others in plastic. However, the spinner was used in countless other movies... so I'm not completely ruling out it was custom made for the movie. |

Most bottles tend to widen a bit at the base of the neck. But it does look like that to me too. _________________

Looking at the Annie screen cap, I know this isn't it.
But the bottle reminds me of an old absinthe bottle.
Did a little Google search and found this.
Close, but no cigar. Might be a route worth exploring.

I wonder if anyone was crazy enough to type "bottle" into google and search every image!
I think if this bottle is a found item it is an old and extremely rare one, so I'm giving up on the search and concentrating on the reproduction.
OB: if I can find some time I'll try to build a 3d interpretation model profile if that helps. |

It would help me out Beast...
a profile shot of the bottle front to back (which should look a bit wider) and a profile shot of the bottle side to side (which should appear narrower)
These shots should be from a straight on level perspective...no angles so that we can start getting actual dimensions for the bottle.
Looking at the Annie Shots has quite convinced me that this bottle is rectangular NOT square...
I'm OPEN to being told I'm WRONG on this point however!

I think from those screencaps it's noticeably rectangular. _________________ I find your lack of faith disturbing. . . |

Thank-you!
I wanted to hear someone besides myself and Loyal say it out loud...
Some potentially exciting news today from a new Bottle-Making source...which I don't want to go into detail about untill we work out the finer points but one fellow DID give me a pre-quote and it was WAAAAY under the $100,000 Dollar mark I have been having nightmares about possibly recieving.
The other Bottle Fellow I have been speaking with referred to the design as "very elegant and unique"...which put a smile on my face
More news as it comes in!
In case I haven't mentioned it enough:

OK...got a suggestion today from a friend about "Guess-timating" the plausible size of the bottle.
Check out this photo(which I know you have all seen)sorry it's kinda grainy...
My friend suggested I find a photo that has someones
hands in it preferably near the bottle like this one.
He then suggested that if I can figure an average
measurement from say the bridge of the knuckels...
I should be able to apply that measurment to the TOTAL Size of the bottle...
I have looked at this photo and talked to my girl-friend to try to figure out an AVERAGE
knuckle-to-knuckle measurment and all we have been able to figure out is that Carol Burnette has bigger than average
hands for a woman...
Can any of you MATH WIZ'S help me out with this?
