Ever since I shadow boxed my C&S blaster, I've been wanting something on my desk that could be handled with less worry than an expensive prop. So I decided to contact Rich and ask him if he still had any stunt blasters.

Rich came through and hooked me up with one of his stunt blasters. It came unfinished as I requested, and built up pretty easily. Some elbow grease and a few applications of rub n buff and its shaped up nicely. Have a look:

Thanks!

This was a fun kit to build up. It required about as much buildup as one of the early Rick Ross PKDs. I didn't wire up the leds though, as I have no idea how that kind of thing works.

Very cool. Feel free to post more pictures of the kit! Smile

I finally picked up some rub and buff, and have plans to use it on a kit very soon. Your work on this definately inspires me to try!

Thanks! I used pewter colored rub n buff for the upper receiver and silver leaf color for the butt plate. From my experience, the rub n buff seems to give a better appearance over black paint than it does over silver. My PKD that was given the rub n buff on the upper receiver doesn't look as metallic as this one does, and I suspect its due to the fact that the base color on the PKD was a silver paint. The triggers and trigger guard are metal as supplied by Rich, I just gave them a few passes with the dremel and some 600 grit sandpaper to give them a bit of shine. The tortoise shell under the grips is actually a transparency window film applied to the back of the grips.

As for the Sebastian 'code slate' as I call it, its an illustrator graphic printed onto a transparency flim and applied to a piece of clear plastic from a CD case cover that I cut to shape. It definately looks better in pics from a distance than it does up close in person.

I have one of Rich's 'stunts' too awaiting assembly. They are an affordable kit with just about the most accurate details around. I don't know if Rich has many of these left, but if you feel you can't afford Rich's top of the line and still want a version of the gun that will display well, this is a good deal.

This is my "prop" model a almost solid model that can take CosPlay.

Still it will not stand up to droping for that you need a rubber stunt prop.

Never.

Rubber dies and falls apart so it will not last.

I would only do rubber for a film where it is only needed for a short time.

Most of my props 25 years old are still like new and still in use.
