Gloss black finish or blued... I'm sorry I don't quite understand. |

I'm also a little confused whether they're just selling the receiver or the whole blaster. |

Nobu-san emailed me a clarification:
The finish of the Zinc parts is a chemical treatment.
But the color is almost black.
That is not blue.
I'll ask him to comment on whether it's the whole gun or just the receiver that is offered.

It's a US manufactured, fully built "Hero" gun from HCG. Rather than importing them from Tomenosuke, HGC will be building them and then exporting them to Japan. Looks very clean. Hope the manufacturing "plant" in the States is as good as the one Tomenosuke has used. |

Correct, full gun, not just receiver. No price or date yet. |

As HCG won't be importing them, the price may well stay relatively stable, even with the bluing and the domestic manufacturing. The good news is that 150 units won't sell out overnight. Look at how many years the 50 "Pro" models took to be snapped up. Okay, some of the 150 will be shipped to Japan but I think there'll be more than enough to satisfy collectors. |

I emailed Mune last week, and he mentioned that there will be more Assembly Kits in the next couple of months as well. |

Well if they get assembled in USA, how about replacing all the PVC parts with metal? I might get on that boat, owning TWO Tomen$ already, and the last one was supposed to be the ultimate and the impression given no more would be sold. So seeing a pattern here. |

The Retail Pro was the "Final Version".
I have no problem with and in fact prefer unlimited runs but stop saying your not going to do anymore and then do more. Very dishonest. _________________ Tom |

PVC parts? I don't think the PRO has any PVC parts. Some of the plastic parts are a special plastic/metal hybrid composite. Also ABS plastic was used.
They are not being fully dishonest.... a little marketing licence at play. This is business. Deep down, we were all circumspect about their remarks, but we suspected there would be some special releases later on or some new batches on the market....how can Tomenosuke resist. They love their blasters and Blade Runner.
And there will always be a demand for the top end blasters such as the Coyles and the Tomenosukes. I take it that Tomenosuke guys advertised that the retailer version is the last iteration of the blaster...no more improvements with the design and mechanical detailing / tooling likely. But that could change too. Of course there will be others on the market. I mean, when we are all dead and buried... Blade Runner, Blade Runner 2 and Blade Runner 3 (?) blasters & props will still be around and so will new iterations and releases. That's the way the real world works. |

Their words,
We are proud to present the final incarnation of the Tomenosuke Blaster, the PRO retailer edition. This final version is the most accurate version yet, further refined from previous releases and is offered as a fully assembled, finished replica.
The replica has been further improved and made more accurate in the following areas:
The grip color is correct and the grip frame is perfected
The grip end plate is now the correct shape.
The receiver shape is improved.
The safety area has been made accurate and the gap between the bolt sleeve and receiver has been eliminated.
The laser has been moved closer to the receiver.
The front trigger blade shape is completely redone.
Improved switch cover shape
These detailed improvements make this the most accurate version of this blaster ever offered! Metal and mixed media construction.
No wiggle room. Like I said I have no problem with them making more I just wish they were honest. This statement is not honest and there is no wiggle room. It's fine, no one cares about integrity anymore so what does it matter.

So, this is basically a "mass" produced version of the Toku-san? |

Does he understand that we consider blueing more of a process and not simply a color? I get the same reaction with folks unfamiliar with real gun finishes. They ask how a real steel gun got such a smooth, deep, shiny BLACK finish and I tell them it was polished and blued and then I have to explain the bluing process can produce black, etc. |

I highly doubt that. Probably more of a hybrid between the previous two offerings. |

Maybe in badger years. It hasn't been more than five years since the original Tomenosuke kit was released. Perhaps more like four... |
