Kinda fun but I'm still not crazy about the finish on the receiver. Looks too "matte" and dark to my eye. |

With this, it has truly become just another (expensive) toy. How about a flag shooting out of the barrel with BANG! printed on it... |

Well the Tomenosuke has always been an expensive toy IMO. Every blaster except for the original is, so nothing new in that regard.
There has always been speculation about the reason for milling a flat and leaving drilling a hole in the Bulldog and outer grip frame respectively. General consensus was for some type of lighting effect in the grips themselves. I was always kind of luke-warm on the idea (aesthetically, not factually), but now I'm thinking - especially in low light conditions - it looks pretty neat. |

Looks great. But wish it where more spread out along the entire grips and not so obvious where the LED source is. |

I with Hirohawa on this. Maybe if there was some diffusion
somewhat like the inner grills on the Enterprise refit I
think it would look a little better. |

Agree. The only thing is that, even if there was diffusion, the LED is kind of "boxed into" the grip, so the light will still be focused in just that one area. |

Diffusion would truly complete the effect. I think in one's hand, stalking down a hallway, it would look great with this type of setup... which is probably all they initially wanted from it (if it had worked).
But yeah, the "hot spots" could be toned down. |

Electroluminescent Lightsheet would do it.

If you get the smallest inverter and battery combination, and have the light sheet level with the flat back face of the grip panels on each side. there could be room in the dead space between them to install the battery and inverter.
Possibly even make a little drop-in unit the shape of the gripframe cutout
With a push switch, operated by a toothpick through the hole in the back of the gripframe.
This is in theory, of course... |

Would be so cool to figure out a way to light the entire grip area. Anyone here up for this challenge? |

The best way to light whiskey bottles is from the bottom up so that might work in this case. Some lights in the butt plate focused up maybe.
Didn't they play around with a bulb when prototyping the original? _________________ Formerly offworld66 |

That's a great solution.
OK, who's gonna build it? |
