Besides the briefcase, extra disk and goodies is the a difference in the film? I saw an opening title sequence on youtube that has paper cutouts and the "Collector Edition" has the same intro as the original and "Directors cut." What gives? Do I have to go out and buy the "Ultimate" too?
Thanks,
Keith |

The five disk HD/Blue Ray version comes with all the same content on the DVDs, minus the paper goods, the wee spinner, and the unicorn origami. The four disk DVD version is missing the workprint disk. _________________

Is the work print worth the extra money? Does it have extra footage? What about the paper cutout title credits I saw on youtube? Where is that from? |

Get the version with the workprint, then your collection will be complete. _________________ Wait; I'm having one of those things! You know; a headache with pictures? |

Have you seen the paper cut out opening? Where is that from?
EDIT: I just discovered the paper cut beginning is a fan made intro.
However, what's the difference with the working print? |

The workprint is a rough cut made for preview audiences and the differences are more radical than any other version including a temporary soundtrack from Jerry Goldsmith for the last part of the film and a different voice over for the rooftop death scene. The film was accidentally screened in 1990 with sold out shows in LA and SF, leading to the creation of the directors cut as a result. I video Bootleg from a camcorder at one of these screening in 1990 was selling for up to and over $100 for quite a while on ebay. The 5 disc HD and BD sets will also have the workprint disc I am told. More info can be gleaned from BRMovie.com and BladeZone.com |

One really noticeable thing about the work print is how dark it is. Visually dark, not mood wise, although it seems the rain and thunder sounds louder on it too. You can't make out a quarter of the visual detail on the workprint that you can on the other versions, but it still works well. _________________

Just got done watching the workprint version included in the BR 5 disc Collectors ed. Interesting edition indeed.
If you own it, make sure to watch a mini documentary included on that disc that shows some mind blowing details at the revamping of some of the scenes in the Final Cut, like the Zhora shooting sequence.
I had no idea, for example, that Warner Bros got Harrison Ford's son to do lip synch for the snake salesman interrogation scene since the original audio did not match the video. They shot Harrison's son on blue screen and implanted his jaw onto the movie... just amazing. |

I think that's him - If so, it's on the workprint disc. The top menu gives you the option to watch it. |
