|
|
Hi folks,
Relatively new as a non-lurker here.
I'm working on some lightsaber projects and I need an early Folmer Graflex flash for an A New Hope lightsaber (not a Graflex, Inc. with patent). They're tough to find these days even with a generous budget, but I'm hoping someone here may have one they'd be interested in selling.
If that's you, shoot me a PM.
Thanks in advance!
Michael

Yeah... the Folmers are tough to find, but that's what I need. Because some mental illness compels me to be 100% accurate. |

It's the Non Blade Runner section, and I think it's reasonable to assume there's some overlap in fandom/interests here.
Worth a shot, I figured. |

Non BR is fine on this board. But I also know several versions of the Graflex were used during filming, and most were not the Fulmer.

But of course. However if you want to build a truly accurate Graflex from ANH or ESB, it must be a Folmer. |

Been a while since I researched it, but I thought that was disproven.

In ESB you can actually see the Folmer stamp on the pommel in the Wampa cave. In ANH, it is believed it is a Folmer because the Folmers have a glass eye that is distinct from later models, and this is what is visible in ANH.
I'm active over on the RPF and searching there too. Just covering all my bases. |

How much are looking to get for it, Andy? I sold mine (unconverted) years ago and I'd love to get another. _________________ Pete |

Pete, hit me up on FB, to email, and we can talk. I have probably cluttered this thread too much already.
Good luck Jedisushi, I hope you can find the elusive Folmer.

I just meant you'll find way more star wars people there than here. |

When someone says they're looking for a "Folmer" what they usually mean is one of the earlier, rarer flash tubes, which can be identified by examining the base of the pommel, the glass eye, the red button, and the brass pins.
The "Folmers" are generally considered to be more accurate for A New Hope and Empire based on all the evidence we have available.
The later "Graflex, Inc." flashes are comparatively easy to come by.
By the way, I did finally find one, so thanks everyone for reading! |
