Thanks for sharing.
Sorta underwhelming. Especially Ford. Looks like he is going to clean out the garage on a Sunday. Hope that is not the extent of his wardrobe for the new film. |

It is not going to look better when you see the real one. Its a swing and a miss on the new blaster. Does not live up to the original - not even close. Held it in my hands and was completely excited for the opportunity while being totally disappointed with the design at the same time. |

I'm sure the license only covers the new film. Any old characters and you run into likeness rights with the actors. |

What's the general opinion of NECAs action figures here?
I'll be getting the BR 2049 figures at some point, and from what I've seen they look pretty good.
I was extremely disappointed with they Ripley figures from the Alien line, though. They made a big fuss about getting the OK for Weaver's likeness, and the three Ripley figures they've done haven't looked that much like her, IMO. |

I think the opinion is that the paint jobs ruined what were some pretty awesome sculpts. |

That's kind of what I thought on the Ripley ones. The unpainted sculpts got me hyped cause they looked pretty solid. Once I got the final product in hand, it was underwhelming. I kind of wish they sold them unpainted! |

I'm having a bit of trouble understanding the intended demographic here. It's a R-rated film, yet NECA is marketing these things as toys.. What children (besides us) will be interested in them? |

Bwood, while they are toys, they are "adult" action figures...I think it even says 17+ on the box.
Most kids are not buying $25+ toys! |

As noted in the comment above, I think their entire business was built around targeting adult collectors from the start. All the interaction I've seen on their social media is with adults, and the times I've seen their stuff in toy stores, it's been segregated in it's own area, rather than in with the star wars, ninja turtles, and the like. |

Deckard is definitely dressed down in the film!
However, he does also don a one-coloured button-down long sleeve shirt with two chest pockets. Other than that, what you see is what you get. _________________ "To show you... that you aren't alone. I am here with you and always will be. Go and do your task, even though you know it's wrong" |

LUV WITHOUT JOI
As time has passed, and the sequel fades from memory (of the unenlightened masses), I've again become disappointed in the marketing of Ridley's (and now Denis's) visions.
I dreamt of someone like Hot Toys picking it up. but alas it was handed off to NECA (Has Hollywood learn nothing from Lucas and Disney?). Now all hope seems to be shelved. It was hard enough just to find the few pieces that were produced last year. Were it not for Toys'R Us (which is now out-of-business) I might never have found them at all.
So, does anyone know of any NECA news? I've found nothing online or at the NECA Store, and with no news, I must assume there will be no more product -
No Joi. No Sapper. No Lt. Joshi and no Mariette. Not to mention a decent 2049 Spinner model or K's Blaster.
And probably nothing from BR 2019.
Unless the plan is to surprise us when our 2019 arrives next year, are we to wait another 30+ years, while NECA holds the exclusive license to do nothing?
Perhaps, as 3D tech evolves it may well put legitimate toy companies out of business and open a world of possibilities . . .

It seems that the studio, or someone else involved, dropped the ball on that series. |

Quite frankly I was amazed that the movie was made after 30+ years and that it turned out as well as it did.
The rest falls, once again, to short-sightedness and lack of interest. Lots of hype, but poor marketing. A friend referred to it as "Yorkinism" (wanting guaranteed returns).
Now the "underground" and foreign markets will again fill the gap and the studios will see little or nothing from it.
AND the quality may well be better, anyway. Look at what Tomenosuke did.
