Welcome aboard

I've never seen any threads about the sweater, but there's several threads on the wallet, and at least one about the BR watches in the "main" forum.

DE,

Welcome to the community!! There is a lot of stuff posted on the wallet, and as for the sweater, Once-bitten might be the guy to talk with. I know he has done plenty of stuff concerning Deckards wear and many other characters.

Otherwise, I hope you enjoy yourself here!

Tom

OOOPS, looks like I forgot to introduce myself before begining to post on this forum !

Well, my name is Fred, I'm french, saw Blade Runner when it was originaly released (I'm 41) and immediately loved it (despite the voice over, even at 16 you could notice it was "polluting" the general mood of the movie).

I'm interested in a lot a things, from XIXe academic painting to art toys... I love props (exclusively from "realistic" SF movies such as Blade Runner, Hellboy, etc) because they "blend" cinema and real life... When you hold one of these objects, you have the feeling to belong to one of these imaginary worlds, to be a here and there at the same time ! What a great feeling !!!

On a professional level, I'm a freelance illustrator and art director. I'm also an editor for one of the leading french bande dessinee (comic strips) companies.

I've also worked on 2 movies, you can see the trailers here :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bro-fCnQQ-4
(I've done almost all of the backgrounds on this one)

http://www.dante01.com/site.html
(I've done half of the storyboard of this one... and we have storyboarded the ENTIRE film)

Hope you'll like them...

See you soon on propsummit ! (glad to be here... It's the first time in my entire life that I register on a forum !!!)

Wink

Fred,

Welcome to the community!! It sounds like you have a great background that enhances your ability to either collect or create your own props!

I am going to check the youtube stuff out later and I am looking forward to seeing what you did and may do in the future.

Take care,

Tom

Thank you Tom !

I wish I had more time to make props... Alas ! Too much work all the time !

Sad

A bientot !

Fred

PS : I made this last year, it's a QEE (art toy) custom that was part of an exhibition in Paris... Not really a prop but that was a lot of fun to do, it's the most important !!!!

Seems to be the place to post introductions, so... Hi, my name's Brian.

After obsessing silently over Blade Runner for many years, I decided to get a blaster -- but which one? My friend, Phase Pistol, became my source for info... until I asked one too many questions. He smacked me on the head and suggested that I start reading Prop Summit. Fair enough, and here I am.

I had the good fortune of being at World Con with Karl that famous year, but stupid me was waiting on line to see Ray Bradbury when the blaster was discovered. I didn't learn about it until dinner that evening... So I didn't get to hold the blaster, and had to spend the rest of the weekend drooling over it from the wrong side of a glass case. I blame Ray Bradbury.

I'm new to the prop world, and as far as blasters go, I've only got the Offworld. Which is a fun piece, no doubt about it, but isn't perfect... I'm sure I'll "buy up" as other options present themselves (within my budget, that is). In the meantime, I'm contemplating appropriate mods for the M2019.

Anyway, this site's been a wealth of information so far, and I look forward to learning even more.

P.S. I've got a thing for fantasy firearms... While they're not the same as movie props or prop replicas, I've been collecting vintage toy ray guns (from the 30s-50s) for a number of years. Just sayin'.

Welcome, you come with good references. Wink

Toy ray guns are a cool thing to collect as well, something I have done to some degree as well, but nothing before 1960 as of yet. Your welcome to show pics here if you ever want to.

I have been hoping on working on some review pages for the guns, but have't had a working computer or connection at home in a while. The first review is up when ever Tom wants to make it public. Hopefully Noeland will help me out with it by doing the Hartfords and other guns I do not own. It will be public and anybody should in time be able to post reviews as well.

welcome again to propsummit,
Andy

INCROYABLE!!!!

Wow, that trailer is just MADE OF AWESOME, dude. Will there be an edition of this with subtitles for the French-impaired?

Between this, Triplets of Belleville, Renaissance* and Persepolis, France is becoming a real center of indie animation creativity. Very exciting.

Welcome!
Ms. Geek aka Michelle

*Yes, I know Renaissance was technically rotoscoped. But that's some of the most creatively done rotoscoping since Max and Dave Fleischer were making the Koko the Clown shorts.

Greetings! Noob to this forum, but not to the prop community. I'm an active Colonial Marine at the Aliens Legacy (with Noeland) and I'm jazzed to have found this place! I've enjoyed Bladerunner since I first saw it in the theatre.

I picked up the 1/6th "android hunter" last week finally, and plan on replacing the head w/ a much better one.

I'm very active in sci-fi costuming, looking forward to doing a Deckard.

Can't wait to score the Blaster!

Looking forward to all the knowledge here!
