Good research and mock-up Hellnback and thank you Colin for having re-posted Mark Stetson's pics (as you can see on the last one, the little fins are clearly visible at the bottom of the trench )

The bellows are actually resting on the side of the machine. The one piece vac-form housing is therefore higher than the sides...hence the difference in height that you saw on the blueprint.

Man, that prop is sooo difficult to do right Confused

Colin,

All good points, but I have to disagree about the arm placement. To me it just doesn't work as showing the angle of the head resting in the trench, seems all wrong for that. And the lines projecting up and to the left would be unnecessary for that, to me they look like an indication of the arm in the raised position. But hey, you know what they say about opinions, and the point is moot anyhow Laughing

I've been messing with this thing, and here's how it's looking so far. Quite a mess, to be sure....

but somewhere in there some sort of Voight-Kampff is slowing emerging. I think.

Thanks, Joberg. Someday a video will emerge showing the actual building process of this beast, and all our questions will be answered. Right?

Yes, it's very difficult to build something right when nobody knows what right is for this thing Rolling Eyes

Had to take some time off from my project, furnace went out, and that's not a good thing to have happen when in Michigan. In December.

But I did make some progress on building some sort of model using the PropShop drawings. Not sure how useful it will be, none of the projected lines lined up, had to made a lot of semi-educated guesses. But this is what I ended up with....

And can someone tell me what this is in the indicated area?

Looking good Hellnbak.

I think those lines are the projection of the six vertical fins. Just how far they stick out in plan view.

If that makes sense.

Ray,

Just came across my VK Model while browsing thru my folders. It's been a long time since I played with it, and it prompted me to visit the forum here to see what has been going on. A lot to catch up on, it will take some time.

Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

Steve

Sorry for the multiple posts. Each time I would attempt to post my reply it would give me an error message. So I kept trying. Had no idea that it was actually posting my reply even tho it was telling me that it couldn't because of an error.

Hope everybody made it thru all the madness ok

I see the error msg problem is still around. I got this msg when I attempted to post the above message, but when I checked I found that the message had actually posted ok, just like before.
Well, it's been so long I've forgotten how to post an image here. Here's what the error msg said --

General Error
Failed sending email ::PHP::
DEBUG MODE
Line : 234
File : emailer.php

Any idea what this means?[/img]

Glad to know that the V.K. project is still in the works...despite real life making it difficult, sometime, to work on our favorite props/models.

As for that error msg...I'm afraid I cannot help you there. AFAIC, I can still upload pics without any problems. Wink
