Hi all.
New member here, and newly obsessed in finding a BR Blaster. All the different versions are doing my head in. I'm currently in touch with Rick Ross and I'm about to order on of his PKD-I Re-issues, this'll be my first Blaster, yay! However I've seen a few mentions on Propsummit about a possible issue of the Worldcon in an all metal version by Sidkit. Does anyone out there have any updates on that or know if it's even true? _________________ Good evening JF! |

It looks like Siderio is backing off from making the kit. Not completely sure why, but their could be a few different reasons. He may change his mind though, and if you contact him through his website he does his best to answer questions quickly. He is a member here too, but does not seem to check in too often for PM's. |

His website probably needs updating. The main page says "Sold Out" on the BR metal blaster, but if you click "kits list" it says "sold out" for the resin/metal (2005) kit, but not for the full metal (2006) kit.

A bit back(about a month I think) he sold the #400 metal kit on Ebay and said it was his last one. |

Yes, I know, I bid on it actually.
This is why I'm saying his website needs to be updated.
And there was some talk of a sidkit version "worldcon" blaster coming out after his others sold out.
Sounds like that's not gonna happen though.

Nooooo!
Hmm... well, I asked him about the Worldcon kit a few weeks ago, and he said he wasn't sure if it's gonna happen. Man, I didn't buy a sidkit yet because I was waiting for a worldcon version, and now they're all sold out... Guess I shot myself in the foot here, no metal blaster for me the way it looks...
Does anybody know why he's not going to make a new version? I also believe he is a member here, so he might chime in... |

I haven't seen Siderio post here since he was asking about details for the Weaver Knob...
Where was the letter posted from Siderio in which he intimated that since the Coyle metal blaster had been released first that we would all have to settle for that Blaster and that price? |

I posted the email from him a while back. Here it is for reference:
Dear Sir,
Seen that I spent a lot of time to help the collectors to obtain a quality product spending a very honest price but people continue to support a speculators as R. Coyle. I decided to stop the production and the worldcon version would be no more relised. I think that is better support other people that support me for other interesting collecticable items. I am sure you will be happy of the new " super expensive R. Coyle production"
Beszt regards
Siderio. |

Sad, It seems he feels there is only room for one metal gun, and he gave up making his worldcon version happen because of a few people that chose Rich's work.
I still think there must be some other reasons why he has given up, because this seems like a real 'Cop out' if this is true. Maybe the language barrier that often seemed appearant in his emails may have lead to a total misunderstanding of what was happening here, and on the RPF. Especially after Firefly Mal gun controversies.
I tried very hard to help him make a totally new gun from as close to original sources as possible including lending him my weaver knob. It is too bad, because he did do great work and made a very affordable kit. I also wonder how much of an affect the dumping of the Offworld guns had on his sales and BR gun replica market?
The economy itself has changed the high priced garage replica market completely in the past couple years. That along with the made in China licensed props companies. Also the time spent on hobbies as many of us work so much more just to make ends meet can make many think that there is some sort of conspiracy against a makers of these kind of props, even more than there truly was.
I can say I hope he changes his mind, Though I am sure Rich doesn't

All played out on theRPF.....While QMx was delaying (once again) the release of their 'Serenity' version it was let out that he was selling a Metal 'Firelfly' version. Soon many preorders for the QMx version were cancled leading to even more economic woes for a struggling company that did in fact have legal rights to sell the gun. A lot of critics attacked all parties, and even Phil S. got involved. Then afterward Siderio seemed to go underground. That is my best recollection of it, but I am sure I missed a lot of what happened, because I stopped reading the threads early on. So take it as the observations of a distant witness if at all. let's just say there seemed to be a big "boom", Chaos, and then nothing much. |

That is unfortunate...for everybody.
Makes me want to take an even lower profile on the BR Bottle Project out of concerns I'll be shut down by someone! |

Sid was the one who produced the serenity resin replicas for QMX right? But he hit the market with 50 metal serenity guns trying to sell them before the resin models hit, sort of under the nose of QMX.
Something along those lines? _________________ I don't have enough blasters! |

Noeland,
I believe Acme did the resin ones, Sid was doing or still is doing the all metal one for them.
He had the Firefly metal version available for some time, I think he released the Serenity one in a limited quantity after securing the licensing contract (or being forced into it) from Qmx.
The being forced into it part is from different stories I have heard about Qmx playing hardball with him to make these because he did not hold the license. Otherwise, it is all just hearsay and rumormill type stuff. _________________ www.propsummit.com

At last...an alternative to the other over priced metal version.
I'm very excited having purchased a Sid-kit right after my Coyle, I can attest to the quality and attention to detail. |

I can also attest to the quality of Sid's work.
The quality of his metal and casting is better than excellent with hardly a mould join or flash in sight. |

Hi everyone - new member here - first post.
Most of you will know me from the RPF.
A big thanks to my very good friend Serafino for pointing me in this direction!
I'm really looking forward to Sid's Worldcon kit - if it surfaces!
Oh, and a big thank you to Amish, Karl, and all the other familiar names I've seen here - it's a superb forum!
Howard. |

Hey Howard!!
I am very happy to see you here From what I know, Sid has released some parts for his new blaster as upgrades for the existing ones. I am hoping he updates us soon to his progress.
Welcome to the community!

Many thanks for the warm welcome, Amish - I'm looking forward to an exciting time here.
I saw the upgraded grip and frame on eBay - but I'm holding out for the whole kit.
Cheers!
