I got this chinese toy blaster form OUTLAW here on the board. I have now finished my conversion to a more Br style weapon.
This is my first completed conversion and will be looking at doing some more when I get the time.

Yes there are electronics in it. It comes with a laser, 1 x bulb, 1 x LED and a sound device. I kept the laser sight and re-used the wiring from the others for the four 3mm red LEDs. |

In my wanderings through the vast expanse of the internet I came across someone else having built a blaster from this toy as well: http://www.huxter.org/pkd/pkd.html |

I did a similar build/mod with this toy myself..although I went off on more of a tangent
here's the build thread - http://www.propsummit.com/viewtopic.php?t=2482&highlight= _________________ Illustrator, Propmaker, general fiddler....https://www.facebook.com/Strangelysaucy |

Pieces of a shaving foam can for the "cylinder"? Brilliant idea!
edit: I went and bought myself one of these as well with the intention of turning it into a Blade Runner prop (the kits are too rich for my poor student purse). Someone in the UK has gotten their hand on a bunch and is selling them on eBay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bladerunner-style-fancy-dress-toy-space-gun-/290362537753
Wish me luck! |

if you can take your time with it it's surprising the results you can get for such a throwaway toy!
do post your progress when you begin your task!

Mine arrived in the mail actually a few days ago, but I just now got around to picking it up. What surprised me is how small the grip is. I have small hands, and it fits them very snugly. I guess that's to be expected from what is intended as a children's toy. |
