I am not convinced yet which side the headset is on. Your photos have given me some food for thought. I am still looking for some of the pieces before I start assembly too. I don't have enough info yet to be able to assume it is wrong here.
looking Good,

JR is right, the headset is craddled in the groove of the phone and the calculator sits on top of the flat part (right side when facing the phone).
You can see it clearly on Bryant's desk. |

Andy, just a thought; maybe the right part of the vid-phone is the view-finder of an editing table? They might have used either Moviola 16/35mm, Steenbeck 16/35mm or KEN 35mm? My two cents... |

The photo of it on the wall in the bathroom shows it to be a slide viewer, Most likely a panavue 2. The desk top versions do not match it perfectly though, but they may have changed it as they built up around it. they may have tried to put in a working screen too, but no working versions have been seen that I know of, but I would find it at least somewhat likely that at least an attempt at a working hero version was made.

Another difficult piece on that phone is the "camera" on top and at the left of the panavue screen. What's that? Looks like the top of a radar gun used by the police. I don't know really but that's an idea. |

It also looks like a handle to an electric shaver It is also bracketed to another square piece in the back. We need more hi-def screen caps.

Well, well, well, to answer that question, here's my new project...again, not accurate, but close enough; now if I can convince my GF to part with the tube of her hairdryer (should not be long now ) I'll have a complete Vid-Phone. Still work to do...

Thanks for the comments The rack at the rear is use to hold Bick lighters; it comes in 2 sizes; I used the 4 3/4"x 4 3/4" for the Vid-Phone, it's more in scale that way.
I had to scratch-built the Casio, also the Contempra is clad with plasti-cards so as to accomodate the slide-viewer (Kaiser brand).
Next: the "tube" and the hinge holding it together to the main base at the rear...stay tuned |
