So, now that a good portion of us have the Model 2019, what can we do with it?

I would like to see some kind of guide to disassembly & reassembly... I'm a little leery of taking it apart.

I might consider repainting it.

Has anyone else modded theirs?

Can we make the front trigger movable?

Can we add some weight to it?

Could we add metal 'upgrade' parts?

I have taken mine apart several times. It comes apart quite easily and uses metric allen head wrenches. I have a bunch of 2.5 mm allen wrenches (the most used size on it) with the screw driver handle on them if anybody wants one. I am pretty sure I will at least repaint mine. I am looking into having a metal butt plate made and also the outside grip frame. I also picked up a real bulldog 38 cylinder for it. The other main things I would like to see done is a cast of the complete bolt assembly in metal and possibly the barrel replaced. Any more than that you might as well get a Sidkit or Coyle all metal. Oh, and the paint stripped of the metal 'Steyr' like receiver.

I'm SO tempted to pick one of these up for the metal upper receiver, but at this point I am holding out for the better and cheaper new metal sidkit. I have already picked up a charter arms bulldog revolver, and I'd really like to bury that sucker in metal parts not plastic parts.

You don't happen to have pictures of it taken apart do you?

I took pictures before I got my new camera, so they are all blurry. I will look to see if any are at all salvageable. If you have taken apart a Coyle, or even a Hartford they are all pretty similar.

If you want Noeland, I could email them to you until I am willing to take it apart again for more pics. I have no room for photography or much of anything else where I live, so I have to improvise Smile

Hey all, noob here to the summit but i felt compelled to join what with my growing love for all things Bladerunner!
Anyways, saw this thread and thought id show what i did to my M2019 over a weekend.
I had to strip the blaster completely of paint, the finish was prety toy like and the fit of parts was awful.
Anyway, a nice coat of primer then a good coat of matt black, and things started to looka whole lot better!
I rubbed the reciever down with find wire wool to wear it a little and painted the bulldog frame? black too, which is more akin to the worldcon i think? The revolver frame was sprayed with a Halfords Audi silver!
Im slowly learning guys, so please forgive my ignorance on some parts descriptions lol!
I do now however want to get hold of sidkit, itll be tough going as im in the UK and we all know what that means lol.
So anyways, some pics....

Looks like a good start to me.

Question:

How 'rattly' are these? As in when you hold it and move it around, does it have alot of creaking, or do any of the parts feel loose?

Thanks... OK out the box, there rattly as hell, and creak a lot lol.
I had to fit all the parts properly and even clean a LOT of flash off the molds!
As it is now, its super solid, no creaks, no rattles and very nice to hold.
If you do get one, you will be disheartened on opening the box, but a few hours work really do pay off well!

Nice work!

You might consider painting the grip frame BLACK under the grips... it might make the "pumpkin" color a bit darker and more "root beer" like, hopefully.

Could do with a few of these for a bit of add on fun, but ill maybe have to talk to Rick is it? on geting PKD's to the UK.
Id like to try out some scopes and silencers on these wicked weapons!
One other thought i had on the grips, was to mist the inside with some Tamiya Light smoke? Any ideas guys?

What I did was I made an image with some random swirls in photoshop, just using the airbrush, then I printed them out onto a clear transparency, put the grip down on top of them, cut the transparency to shape, then just bolted the grips onto the frame. The end result is a kind of tortoise shell look to the grips. It does help that the grip frame is black, that seems to darken the grips in general. with the swirls it takes on that tortoise shell look.

Nice work, ralphee! 1000 times better than the original paint job. I've been trying to decide how to repaint mine.

Out of curiosity, how did you strip the original paint off?

I am have been playing around with the transparancy Idea as well. It is easy to cut out to shape and you can print any pattern you want on them. I am thinking about trying some circuit board designs as well as the tortoise shell. The best part is if you don't like it you can take it out and replace it.

The offworld is a pretty underated gun. A nice paint job goes a long way on it. Very nice work.

Ralphee,

That looks great! I love the flat black look. It has a real nice crisp look and feel to it!

Any thought of weathering? If you mentioned this already, I apologize for missing it.

Great job!

Hey guys

Well ok, the paint was stripped Nexus with just very fine wire wool and elbow grease. Its surprising how fast i got down to bear metal and ABS!
From there all parts were cleaned up of flash and i did sand in the barrel some to get a more uniform join (its two halves).
Once a good primer coat is applied, i shot it with Halfords matt black aerosol, once that was cured, i shot the whole parts layout with Dullcote!
I swear by the Halfords paint as its smooth as hell and dries with a fantastic texture, i use it on all my SW builds!
As for more weathering, i may do in time, i did scuff up the receiver some, but not too much, wanted it to look fairly clean, but i may wear in this more as its metal and would look very cool rubber down more!!
I will hit the grips with a coat of light smoke and see what happens, ill report back on that guys to see what you all think Very Happy

Really nice work. Why on earth they used high gloss glitter paint is a mystery.

Ya know, with that flat paint she looks a lot more like a hartford, which is what most of the black parts are cast from

I've been eyeballing these blasters for awhile, but I've been so broke for so long now, I just know I'm gonna miss the boat on this one.

Maybe if I get a nice christmas bonus! Smile

Talk to Once-Bitten - he might be able to help you out with a replica Weaver knob. Wink
