Thanks Fred
Also, the DM car looks, to me at least, like a more modern version of Deckard's. |

Great picz Fred (as always)...Very S.A. design for Stallone indeed; the letters on the cap are S.A.P.D. . The tunnel (used in many, many movies and commercials) is the Third Street Tunnel in L.A. |

I've not seen this posted so forgive me if it's common knowledge.
At approx 1hr37m32s, in BR, we hear a strange sound. We hear it twice.
To me it sounds almost identical to Brett's cat sound from ALIEN.
Anyone else agree? |

OK, last post (finaly !) about the similarities between Blade Runner and Demolition Man...
Master and servant :
In both sequences the characters have the same position on screen (maker at the right, vilain at the left of image), they're lighted by a fire (fireplace in Demolition Man & candles in Blade Runner) and the vilain will kill his maker in this room.
You also have 2 references to A L I E N in Demolition Man...
Here :
You can see a drinking bird on the kitchen table of Huxley's apartment.
and there :
I know, RACAL minilite headsets were used in numerous movies after A L I E N (including Aliens) but it's neat to find them here aswell !

Thank you once again for the kind words, mates... ALWAYS APPRECIATED !
BTW, who saw the final Robin Hood trailer that was released a few days ago ?
It was eye candy for me, I can't wait to see it... it promises to be something visualy interesting, even it it reminded me of other films here and there, see by yourself...
I doubt britons ever had assault barges... but the effect is great, very efficient visualy speaking !
Don't know why, but a scene made me instantly think of the GREAT jean-Paul Laurens, a french academic master of the late XIXth / early XXth century... No "cut & paste" effect, but the spirit is here, don't you agree ?
Sir Scott took inspiration in another french academic master for Gladiator, I'm talking about Jean-Léon Gérome... That would be cool to find the same kind of influence in Robin Hood, this time taken from Jean-Paul Laurens' paintings !!!
Coming next : How Jean-Léon Gérome also influenced John Milius' Conan !

Here's one I noticed whilst watching Tron....
Also, I noticed another similarity but need to find the right screen cap on the net before I can post it.

Both of those ships were designed by Syd Mead. Good eye.

Looks a lot like ''Bourgeois Realism" to me (1848-1875) in Europe, principaly England, France, Germany...romanticism at his highest. Love it and love the "mise en scene" of these particular painters! Good one Fred
Yes Neil, good eye on the Mead designs of both ships! |

Finally found the pictures I was looking for.......
Excuse the quality, when I saved it in Paint it lost some of the quality
As soon as I saw the "Solar Sailer" from Tron I immediately thought of Dooku's ship from AOTC.
Here is some info from the Tron Wiki site....
Quote: | We see that this vessel is a simulation of a futuristic spacecraft,
designed for travel in the Real world using solar energy, with an
enormous metallic sail to catch the rays of sunlight like wind, and
move with the speed of light. The sail is at the bow of the craft,
and a long, slender walkway connects it with the deck area, which is
made up of several connected flattened box-shapes, giving it the
look of a dragonfly. In this world, the Sailer catches data
transmission beams instead of sunlight, and is propelled along the
information paths to the Central Processing Unit. |

Good stuff Neil...it's true that the "sail" kind of technology has been studied by NASA for ages; it's supposed to work on paper |
