From what I could tell from Nyzeki's Blog is that they have one of your bottles but want to improve on it, but the cost to start a run is over 300 million yen, about 300 thousand dollars. I think they feel your bottle is the wrong size or something else, and they have issue with the uneven annealing. Don't quote me though, because I have basically guessed at what they are saying using Google translator.

Here is the link, Google translated.

I wasn't quoting you in any way ob, just mis-interpreted when you said "get some proof before you purchase" I take it you mean in terms of the quality/accuracy of their bottle?

I agree when questioning if they are serious. so far there hasnt been any updates and nothing has been mentioned on the RPF. I think a bit more promotion and even a webpage would convince people more.

I think they were just looking at interest to see if it was even feasable to do a run at an affordable price, but it looks dim for this project.

No worries Beast...I guess maybe I'm still a little too close to my own Whiskey Bottle Project, even though it was a great relief to be done with it.

I run the risk of going Postal here if I'm not careful...or maybe a more accurate term would be going "Coyle" Very Happy

I'm pleased as punch that someone may be taking on another run of the bottles and I have no doubt they could probably get a better bottle made.
I also think however that their idea of a rigid structure to the project will ultimately prove to be their undoing...
To set out by saying "We must get X amount of money or the project will be abandoned" ? And then to give little or no feed-back to potential financial investors of that project? I'm guessing that someone is not as serious as they would like us to think they are.
Not to mention that they have supposedly been working on this since before I started my bottle (2006?---really?) and they apparently only have ONE drawing to show for it?
Then again I did hear about another group headed up by Phil Steinschneider that kept an interest list going on a BR Whiskey Bottle project for 10 years! No Joke!!
I guess I'm a born cynic and skeptic....we'll see.

Hello,

Thank you for everybody.

This is the one like the applicant list. I do not get the advance.

(PM welcome!)

When we(I and elfin) heard OB's project, we were canceled our bottle project.

We thought.

"It was preceded by the United States fan. We need not make the bottle any longer. "

I bought 1 bottle from OB.

Very nice...

However, I felt that it more somewhat than Prop used in the movie was large.

And...To our regret,Chinese glass work is not good ....

And!

I want another bottle... to use it in daily life.

So I and elfin restarted our bottle project.

OB,We intend never to copy your bottle.

Elfin tries to write the blueprint now.

(He have not OB bottle. He doesn't have even what sees the actual thing. )

SORRY FOR MY BAD ENGLISH

Thank you for the information, NYzeki, and for making some of the history of your project with Elfin Knights clearer for us.

Looking forward to updates as the project continues to develop.

It sounds like the Japanese bottle is dead for now. You can contact NYzeki through his blog http://ameblo.jp/allbr or translated by Google. If they get enough interest it may be resurrected.

It's the master mold that has to be perfect ( which is the most expensive part of the whole deal ) and then the glass annealing quality of the manufacturer , Chinese glass is not particularly of high quality across the board - it poorer than milk bottle glass , I would strongly suspect that history will repeat itself and there will be a high level of rejects and only a small quantity of good 'pulls' and not enough to meet the mimimum & 10,000 Yen, is still a big cost for a bottle - sight unseen !

Interesting, but $125 for plastic bottle sans labels? While I've paid more for many other plastic things I just don't see it as being worthwhile. Keep in mind plastic degrades, and if you're using that PET bottle for any length of time the inside will not only become a bacteria harbor the plastic itself breaks down releasing monomers.

According to my source the plastic bottles from BR have suffered what cheap plastic suffers: i.e brittle, yellow/loosing transparency, warpage and, as Seth mentioned, the release of noxious gases Shocked .

Great work but there's something about the size/features of the bottle that doesn't jive (maybe it's me Confused )...too clean or too sharp?
