The landing pad complex suggested in the background looks interesting. Cannot imagine what W-Y's commercial towing vehicle spaceport must look like with a few of these behemoths in for service. Keep up the good work, Starrigger! Surprised Surprised

Embarassed Thanks, joberg Embarassed

With a little bit more detail... Looking at these Renders makes me want to make that Rocket sound in the back of my throat. Laughing

LOL! I hear you, Starrigger! Love the dynamic of seeing the N at an angle instead of the stock horizontal mode in the film.

VERY nice work!

I know the piece you're talking about! My fav as well. Love to see figures here, for scale.

Nice depth of scale and artistic vision.

Good effort on your part, but be careful about the direction of the main light source. While the planet on the background is distinctly lit from the upper right hand side of that comp, or let say that the light source is almost behind you on a upper right hand position...it's strange that the sides of the Nostromo are not lit by it, or the person on the foreground (you added the shadow, but not harsh highlights on the person itself).
If you see pics of the Apollo landing, the harsh sunlight produces sharp shadows/lights.

Unless this was just a "dry run", then I'll take it all back

Also: seeing her from this angle makes me begin to think Nostromo may have been capable of lowering a cargo bay/garage much like Prometheus did in the film.

Again: Great work!

too true!... It actually was a second run... I wanted to see what the landing gear lights looked like... Here is the first pass:

All of what is here really is premature, I still haven't decided on a finale composition for the finale scene(s)

Cheers,
Steve

So, is it possible you could provide a top-down diagram, like a birds-eye view, of your Nostromo and where the outlying astronaut is in relation to him distance-wise? Would give an interesting sense of scale, to me.

Unfortunately this one was done in forced perspective, let me see what I can do to make it for you

Ok, here are a couple of scale illustrations

From the previous render, I moved and rescaled the man in the foreground to correct proportions.

And now some new ones:

SUPER-FANTASTIC!

That's great work, there, capturing the scale and visual 'weight' perfectly. That's one BIG ship and you grasp that with these shots. I'd suggest as you work up the landing field and bay, include human-sized points of reference otherwise it's difficult to truly appreciate the monstrous scale you're working with. Of course, I'm sure shading and texturing can accomplish that as well.

Thanks for turning these out, and the extra blood, sweat, & tears that required.
