OK, the blog has been dead for a while now as I actually finished the blaster weeks ago, just never got round to taking pics. It needs some repairs as the handle has got a little loose and various other things, though it's a display piece so I can't be bothered for the moment.

Still not entirely happy with it, though if I squint my eyes it could almost be a Tomenosuke Laughing

Here's just a standard photo to show it in other light. the bluing actually turned out really nice, though looks light and blotchy in the other photos for some reason.

Damn'! I had to do a few double takes before I realized that wasn't the real thing.

awww, you guys Smile

There are alot of inaccuracies that I should have fixed. I think I could make it alot better if I had a fresh sidkit (and the time)

I got some of the dies left over if anyone's interested.

My heavens but this is just fantastic Ed...

I'm not specialist in blasters at all, but as other people have posted here, this has to be the sweetest version possible. Your tireless efforts to get each piece as accurate as possible shows in every photograph you have so thoughtfully shared with us.

I have a metal Sid that is crawling its way to Aus and I have to admit that seeing your build has given me a huge boost...

Cheers mate and again, warmest congratulations and my profound thanks for sharing!

I think only a handful of people would be able to tell the difference between this and the real thing. Amazing job Beast!

BTW, how is the stand working out for you?

I would be interested in the dies too if you are looking to get rid of them Wink.

Well if you're that unhappy with it, you should mail it to me, that way you don't have to think about it

Top notch work Ed. Cheers mate

hey guys!

chew: I did try to match all of the paint scratches to the original, though the buttplate would have driven me insane! hehe. It's actually a printed transfere from Karl's photo Wink

Staar: cheers mate! Smile I was really inspired by your pkd build. that paint job was superb! let us know how you get on with the sidkit.

andy: The stand is just perfect! it holds the blaster really nicely and you're right it's super stable! doh! I realized I only have 1 set of dies spare which I promised hirohawa. chew also has a set, so maybe when they are done with them they can pass them your way Wink

offworld66 / loyal: cheers guys! Smile

some additional notes, both side covers were heavily modified as well as the plastic magwell. I had to re-wire the leds as the included pre-wiring didnt work. though for some reason the green leds would cancel out the red ones and vice versa, so I had to leave the green ones off Sad

It will be a while before I need the dies, I am glad they are going to get used for sure. I am still hoping to get more parts for the Sidkit worldcon someday.
