I have theory that many of the board members' favorite movie list would match up very closely.
What's your list?
Here'a handful of favorites that I imagine will resonate with this crowd.
the verhoven trilogy-
Robocop
Total Recall
Starship Troopers
Road Warrior
Conan the Barbarian
Alien
Dark City
John Carpenter-
The Thing
Big Trouble in Little China
Escape from New York
There. That's a start!

90% same as Andy (no Time bandits or Maltese Falcon for me, thanks)... and I'd add :
Children of Men
THX 1138
La Belle et la Bête (Jean Cocteau's version)
La Jetée (Chris Marker's original version of 12 Monkeys)
Apocalypse Now
+ ...
Alien
Blade Runner
Et voilà !

I own all the movies listed above apart from 'Ferris Bueller's day off' 'Delicatessen' 'City of lost children' and Star Trek 2...
Joberg, i love the Fountainhead...utterly one of the best Cooper's performance playing FLW !...
My best SF movies for each decades :
50's Forbidden Planet...and many others
60's 2001...and some others that are less less good than this master piece !
70's THX 1138...and many others dystopian gems from this wonderful movie decade
80's Blade Runner...although A L I E N is not so far (i know it's a 70's movie but i always saw it as a 80's movie ! ... Outland is very good too !
90's Gattaca, Dark City, Starship Troopers...
2000's Children of men, Moon _________________ I know what you're thinking...did he fire six shots or only five ?
Well to tell you the truth, in all the excitement i kind of lost track myself... |

Return of the Living Dead was directed by O'Bannon. It introduced the concept of zombies wanting "BRAIIIIINNNNNSSS!" specifically (not just shuffling around wanting to cannibalize).
Oh and here's something I just now discovered - the Tarman (photo above) was created for O'Bannon by illustrator William Stout!
