Rick is a great guy. I met him last spring when a few T4 guys got together for dinner and drinks in NYC. Turns out, he moved into an apartment directly across the street from where my wife and I used to live. He moved in the same month that we moved out.

Maybe, with a little coaxing, we'll be able to persuade him to join up here. I think he'd be a great addition to the re-vamped board.

Over the past couple of days or hours even I have had the opportunity to communicate with Rick, and I have a good feeling we might see some posts from him here. I look forward to seeing his opinions on blade runner and also learning from him as a prop maker and as a person in general.

As well, he truly seems to be a good man and I look forward to him being apart of our community.

I remeber when I got muy first Doppleganger kit! i had dealt with a couple other garage PKD kits and was totally wiped out by the quality of Rick's work! I was tremendously impressed with the resin he used compared to crap kits I'd cried over and the local hobby store crap resin mixes.

Not knowing anything about Rick or anything about recasters, I emailed him and praised his kit...then asked him what kind of resin he used! Looking back I'm sure he thought I was another recaster. Shocked I then proceeded to buy one of each of his kits. I'm now amazed he sold them to me!

Never did find out what brand of resin he used. Confused It comes out of his molds with such a nice patina.

hated to see him sell his molds. Glad he's thinking rebirth. Can't have too many Dopplegangers!

He only sold the molds for the PKD 2 to Charles Wallace. He owns all the rights to the name Pflager Katsumata series D, and even though the molds for the PKD 1 were destroyed in a fire he used some of his casts to make the new Magnum and resurrect the snub. His first Magnums were bashed from parts of a PKD 1 and PKD 2 and only 5 built ups were made. He wants to go his own way with these guns and make them the way he wan'ts them to be...and IMHO they are the coolest

I finally got a chance to pick up a PKD-1 kit from the RPF JY and was also amazed at the quality of the casting and the tightness of even the test fitting.

I have been searching high and low for a snubbie and the news that there may be more of those kits coming out makes the fanboy in me gush.

Here's to hoping it's not a long wait!

Actually, Pete is the great guy. It's nice to have him in my neighborhood. I'm sure I'll see you around the block sometime. Hopefully next time I'll be more aware of who is honking at me. Smile

Thanks Andy! I've really enjoyed our "Timeline" talks. It's been a trip down memory lane. For the past 5 years I've sort of shut out the "Doppelganger" years - too much resin, too much talc.

Talk to you soon.

Rick
