NEW CS&T Blaster by Richard Coyle

But I wanted to chime in again with another big Thank You for Rich. The CS&T (Thanks to Karl, again, too) nails the bar up permenantly for the Deckard Blaster. I know that he has a metal version in the works and I hope to see one someday, but this is a professional job in all senses of the word. If it was in a big-screen close-up, you would swear it was metal. The paint/finish of the resin parts, plus the inclusion of critical metal parts make this perfect. I didn't mention the thumb release swing out cylinder - filled with real dummy rounds. The previous C&S versions look real good, this one is just fantastic!

I am putting money away again to see about getting one of these. I am really liking what he did with the grip. looks almost dead on. Love to see the paint job in person too. Rich has always been the one to raise the bar for everybody else. Very nice!

Here's a couple of the new Coyle CS&T in partial shade outdoors. The colors are pretty accurate in these shots. The Steyr breech and bolt lever are a darker gunmetal color than the Bulldog parts - barrel, frame, cylinder and trigger guard. The grips are a darker, more brownish shade of amber than previous C&S versions. Heft and trigger pull (working double action hammer) are good. As someone pointed out, an all metal "real" blaster would weigh a ton. Running with one hanging from your belt would probably drag your britches down around your ankles. Anyway, here's the shots. These are adjusted to 1:1 scale. I hadn't seen how Rich was going to include Karl Tate's contribution - check out the model plaque:

A couple of things.
1) The pictures taken at Worldcon are of the prop as it is now, it is is the
conduction the real prop was found in, rusting and seemly uncared for.
This is surely NOT the conduction it was in for the making of the film
and it would never be the conduction of a still in use and carried service
weapon, so I did not plan on trying to make the rust and lack of
care model.

Note I have done one finish as rusted and worn, and it came out well, and so it is a option.

2) The wires on the outside of the left side cover really look Hodge Podge
and Mickey Mouse, add in the fact that they were later painted or covered
(Seen in the wall shot covered but painted in the dropped gun shot) I think they thought so on the set, so I have worked a way to hide them in a slot on the inside of the cover, and again think this is the way the gun would have been done on the set and most certainly in real life.

Again you can order them as visable.

3) I plan on providing both the screw and the Weaver knob, the jury is still
out on which was used within the film and as it is a simple thing to supply
both you can then use which one you like.

4) As the switch in the ammo clip IS now found in a couple of screen
captures I plan on it being the stock switch and clip. On the other hand I
feel that the two screws with the washers was again a jury rigger fix of
perhaps a original inside toothpick switch, I can see no other reason for
them. I feel they distract from the model and plan on leaving them off.

The model in these pictures I feel is the closes to what a real Hero Prop gun would have been as protraied within the Film.

Again some feel the hidden "Toothpick" switch is more in the keeping of a
real gun so that is also an option.

This is also the color and details I plan for the metal model,
custom requests will be allowed.

So there are many versions that can be ordered, as found,
as filmed and which version as filmed you like.

So far of this run there has been three versions done.

Could you please post a photo showing what is changed on this new one (WC model) and the prior RAC models? Maybe a side by side? Also, any time estimates on the new metal model? Can the top of the metal model be left unpainted so it can be weathered by the buyer to resemble a Steyr receiver with the finish gone?

Rich is the warn paint on the backside of the grip as we see in the WC photos replicated in your current design? (where it feathers out from black to bare metal)

Not on the Plastic model but I do feel it would be easy to do on the all metal version.

I think what you are talking about is where it looks like to me that they ground down the grip frame and butt plate to curve into the grip more naturally.. It looks like they did not repaint the grip frame afterward.

I think they sanded or scotchbrighted off the paint (black) off the butt plate sides and rubbed some off the frame and did not repaint.

if you compare the buttplate and grip frame from the hero to one of the stunts, you can tell they ground down the back to get that nice curve. Probably around the same time they put in the pinky notch in the front.
