I think on Feb 27 you'll have the opportunity to order thru Tomenosuke or HCG. Wait for details.

My American friend in Tokyo sent me this email yesterday:

"I went to the Hollywood Collector's Gallery website today and saw that they had added the BR Blaster to the product offerings featured in the horizontal marquees. Since they offered an advance online order option, and since I had seen the actual brick and mortar establishment I thought it best to go ahead.

So, I navigated the website membership procedure and ordered two--one for me and one for you. I have received confirmation emails and a charge in the correct amount was made on my card."

Apparently you can order directly from HCG, as long as you understand Japanese.

So I'll be getting one. Don't know if it's necessary for me to arrange purchases for others since anyone can order one now, but if somebody's interested I can see what I can do to help.

Too bad the price for this marvel is so high!
However, I was wondering:

is this Tomenosuke really much better than M2019C (with the special upper receiver)?

I don't think the price is high, not for the quality of the piece (cannot buy it now Crying or Very sad )...wait 'till somebody buys it and then re-sell it on EvilBay: then it'll be unaffordable!!

10x better at about 4x the price I would say...still I have never handled the Tomenosuke, the Offworld is slightly better than a toy. Great for costuming, and can be modified further to be better looking and less cheap plastic feeling. Still it has a ton of problems including the size off the grips and a loose cylinder that wont stay in, and rattles like a baby's toy.

The Tomenosuke is just the cleanest, sexiest looking blaster replica made. Still it has a lot of plastic in it too, but you can't get one with sharper lines and attention to detail.

Actually I had the opportunity to compare the PRO with my friend's Offworld (I don't own one myself). If you only have a couple hundred to spend, the Offworld isn't that bad really. It's going to have to be that or a resin one.

Keep in mind that the real prop is a .44, and the Offworld (as well as most pre-2006 replicas) is a .38. So the Offworld is a bit small. The grip is undersized too.

In the price range between the extremes you can still find a metal Coyle kit or Sidkit, and those have been built up really sweet. Might be a third option if you have the skills.

I don't have the loose cylinder problem on my Offworld.I guess some are tighter than others.

I don't either, especially now that I have it loaded w/ inert .38 JHP rounds. It's tight as can be.

The fusion of PRO with the real gun parts should be quite amazing!

In other news, Lady Aiko, the cover artist for the Tomenosuke OG and PRO, has a new art piece out and offers autographed prints of the aforementioned box art.

OK here at last is the ordering info for US customers of the PRO. I have put up a thread here in the Prop Shop

http://www.propsummit.com/viewtopic.php?p=40551#40551

But here's the gist of it:

United States orders of the Tomenosuke PRO are being handled by Hollywood Collectors Gallery:

http://www.hollywood-japan.jp/html/newpage.html?code=11

Only 15 units are available at this time, and will be shipped from Los Angeles. Total price including shipping will be $1100.

As far as I know this only applies to United States orders. But you could email or call Hollywood Collectors Gallery and ask about sales to other countries.

I'm so confused at this point!

Karl, can you or someone else who has gotten one of these puppies, explain to me which parts exactly are metal and which are ABS? Or point me to a very clear thread about it? I think I'm just confused with the versions, etc at this point.

Is the upper receiver metal? The bolt and buttplate are definitely metal from what I gather, right?

The frame?

Thanks in advance guys.

Sorry to hear you're confused. This version is the PRO, it is a gunmodel manufactured by the Marushin company for Tomenosuke.

The upper receiver is metal, as you surmised. The barrel and Bulldog frame are plastic, since Japanese gun laws dictate how much metal you can have in a model like this. (by comparison the Coyle 2011 model has all the parts that are metal in the hero prop, metal in the replica. The Sidkit has ALL the parts as metal, including parts that ought to be plastic instead).

Here is a post from awhile back, showing the materials used in the PRO.

English translation of the key to the diagram:

Die-cast zinc
Die-cast aluminum
High-density plastic
ABS plastic
Iron
