Well here it is. I obviously went for the new issued look. I really like it except for the gunmetal spray. It came out fine and looks like I thought it would but I just don't know. I felt the pewter black was just not dark enough and I really like how it came out but it's just not quite right. I really can't articulate anything but something is just not right. However I don't have another alternative and I am really happy with it. So for the near and probably distant future here she is.

And Just for fun the Harrison Ford Trio:

Nice job Jaimeth I really do mean that , these are not critics of your work it's very good overall , but your barrel needs 'blueing' to be complete and your gun frame is a little too bright perhaps a bit of weathering ?? and if you electroplate the upper receiver you can at least 'parkerize' the finish. Unless you can get a gun metal 'polished' finish - with paint it doesn't look 'right' and you know what I mean . However , I do like the crispness of your finish overall , so congratulations you are only the second person to publish a finished picture of a LE build!

I was thinking the same thing. Not sure what I want to do. I saw a Blaster with an unfinished barrel and I liked how it looked and I did want to go for the new issue look. Just not sure what to do. I agree on the frame. On the gunmetal I'm not sure what happened. It does look good but a practice piece I did and buffed looked way way better. For some reason this darn thing just would not buff. It looks like it did as when it dried. Can't figure out why. For now it's done but I will return and tweak it eventually.

I hope others show their's off soon. As you said you and I are it I think.

Agree and understand your reasons , on the gun metal front, did you by chance use any cellulose thinner ? I'm assuming you airbrushed the piece, you may want to try using an alternative thinner, I did this once and had the same thing happen to me it just didn't want to buff up at all and presented a uniform matt finish, I had to change thinners. If that fails, use a brush and lighty rub down with steel wool between each coat , after letting the final coat dry ( it should go a cloudy finish) buff it up with a lint free cloth. Hope it goes well for you . Last post until I'm back the end of September .

Two thumbs up from me.

I think it's a great build, and I like seeing the "new issue" versions just as much as the weathered, or "world con" versions.

Well done.

Thumbs up from me as well mate!!

I tend to agree with propsjohnnyb regarding the color of the barrel etc but for the rest, the blaster has turned out to be especially clean and tidy.

I'm sure this will be a great source of pride for many years to come!

Kind regards

MARK
