Thanks for sharing Bwood...don't know if N.Portman is the best for the role (looking a little too much like Wynona R. for my taste )...but then again, I'm not the director/studio making the decision. Hopefully, this is not the last we'll hear about casting...hopefully |

Cannot say that I am liking how this is shaping up if these stories are true.
Just because Alien could get a PG13 rating now (so the articles say), doesn't mean to say any new Alien movies should.
I don't want to see a dumbed-down Alien movie...had enough of that with Alien Resurrection.
I want to see a cold, calculating, terrifying Alien (whether THE alien or or Space Jockey)...not something off of Power Rangers.
Ridley has proved he can pull it off with Alien; I hope Fox sees sense and gives him the creative control he needs.

I am going to try to keep an open mind on this, but it seems FOX may have forced "Queen Amidala" into the "RIDLEY SCOTT SEQUEL"
Noomi Rapace seems to also be signing on.. but all of this is completely in a state of flux... but then again, Portman has been cast as leads continuously....
I do not think Lindelof saved the Scott sequel... I think Sir Ridley Scott himself must save it.

We need a broad! A strong gal people! (Rapace would be my first choice).
Hopefully, cooler heads will prevail |

Personally, I'm not questioning her acting ability - it's her.... 'stature' and general on-screen 'presence'.
Ah, this is all a nightmare; it'll go away... |

You'd think with the clout Ridley has these days that it wouldn't still come down to a case of too many chefs stirring the pot.
But it's Hollywood, and money plays. _________________

Oh yeah: the studios don't like the ''no recognizable star'' stuff (as if the first StarWars was with major recognizable stars in the main roles: Mark Hamill... anyone ). BS fly about when pitches are being presented to the Suits and it's bound to change (hopefully for the better). Rapace is still my choice...Theron not so much. |

The thing that kills me is that 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' is one of the most popular DVD's and downloads in the US. The actress in it (Rapace) makes the whole movie, she is so authentic and edgy. I am just sick and tired of Hollywood choosing glamour over realism and acting ability. Most of my favorite movies have mostly unknown actors in it, because their familiarity does not take me out of the reality of the scene. Star Wars is a perfect example, because the headline actor in that film was Alec Guinness.
