Ive seen this on ebay for probably a couple of years now and the story has never changed with it and they have never supplied a pic of the finished item.
Does anyone know anything about them or the spinner?
Dont want one, just fascinated by the whole thing

Sheesh.... I was wondering what the use of the word "bloody" was for so I looked at the ebay ad. Saw no blood anywhere.

Anyway, the seller can be contacted via ebay as you already would have worked out by now... so I am sure they can supply you with a production model pic.

Saw that not long ago (maybe on this board or the RPF) according to their web-site, you can order these in any size Shocked . The question I have is this: is the pic used in their E-bay add is that of the Medicom Spinner?

I have looked at a bunch of their models auctions...

Nice but they are like MR, they almost get it right...

Disney Moonliner, too short landings sturts, every model is slightly off.

I did find a couple where they have not made a model so they are using a picture of a film model (Starship Troopers) or some toy...

I asked them if they had pictures of the final model, and they actually said "Buy it and we will make it". Guess nobody has bought one yet. I have heard their other stuff is pretty well made though, but like Rich said, they take some liberties with accuracy. This is for those collectors of the military airplane models I am guessing too. It might be interesting to see one unpainted in wood, but I have a feeling they use a lot of filler to make them.

Thats what i was thinking Andy, two years on ebay and not one picture,
so no orders, wouldnt they just show a pic of a prototype or something?

The whole thinks smells funny from the start, I just wonder at their dedication at paying those ebay fees.

They are mainly copyists, I saw some of their Aircraft models a few months ago that a friend had bought and whilst quite good are not absolutely accurate , their attention to detail is shall we say 'lacking'. I don't believe they have ever made a spinner so save up for Randy's !!

Rolling Eyes

(Their Nostromo is even uglier than their Spinner)

Shocked

I wouldn't touch that without using toilet paper. Razz I find it funny that copied the paint color of the medicom spinner as well. Since they used their photo for so long, I guess they wanted to be consistant.

well.... looking at it with the eyes of the not so wealthy average guy (meaning me) that spinner is better than no spinner at all. Laughing

medicom´s spinner is way expensive and the others I´ve seen are too small for the price people ask for them...

For this price you can get the monsters in motion version of the Anubis spinner. Plus the medicom has sold many times for less than $200..It also isn't that big (That's what she said) Very Happy

Seeing what Randy Cooper did with the Spinner, even the one from MIM will look like a 3rd world country model from hell .

here is the MiM Anubis...
http://www.monstersinmotion.com/cart/sci-fi-as-in-science-fiction-item-listt-c-9_188/spinner-car-17-inch-model-hobby-kit-p-4311

There may be a rerelease of the Medicom as part of a Japanese box set for the BlueRay release too.

The Randy Cooper is one I am keeping my eye out and may end up getting. I think it will be worth it for sure.

Seems like I've seen that picture before. I wonder if it is representative of the actual model being sold….

I would say "NO". This is the same thing they did with the spinner. Used someone else's photo and then produced a poorly done piece o'crap. I am sure little to none of that detail will be present. They could prove me wrong, but I doubt it. Still, it would be very foolish to pre-order it no matter what. The price isn't any cheaper when they finish it, and have more accurate photos. I think they only use the pre-orders to gauge whether it is even worth doing or not, not to mention have some cash in the bank to work off of. Still I think it might be against Ebay rules to put something up for auction, you do not allready have in hand. Be afraid, be very afraid. Wink
