well I am a dumbass, thats how this starts. I have been trying to revitalize a MiM blast I picked up built in 2006.... one thing after another has set me back, but with some patience and redo's it was coming back together.

I bought the off world mag with LEDs, and the metal upper reciver. Just got them today.

Well needless to say the second I tried sliding the MiM bolt in I broke the metal on the back right side. It's a thin area and I was being gentle...but apparently I am a bigger clutz than I thought. Current;y I am trying to salvage the part by using epoxy to re-attach. and then I am goign to get the right kit for the upper.....eventually.

So can anyone tell me if epoxy will wor, or could I solder this area to repair it?

Thanks!

I feel your pain, if that piece is pewter I would not recommend any soldering since the pewter has a low heat point. As for epoxy, you can always ask your local hardware shop what is the best one for metal.

The offworld isn't pewter, it is pot metal. Should handle soldering, but a good metal filled repair epoxy should work better and be easier to use.

Metal epoxy would be the best bet , but I suspect the part might be two thin to join directly , I would suggest using a thin piece of plasticard used as a mount cut to size then smooth a thin film over the card and then mount the pieces back onto the card use the epoxy to join the break and fill any gaps.

Ah cool I will try this, it is too thin at this point, and I guees it's gonna live in the box till I get the rest of the blaster to go with it. Tis a shame it wouldn't go on the MiM.

Where did you buy it from? You might ask them directly, and let them know it broke because you had problems putting it onto the gun you bought it for. They may be willing to replace it.

I sent you a PM with the Offworld address I have. They are the ones who made it and sold it to Monsters in Motion.

Any pics of the actual damage to share? It's always helpful to see the break.

I have no experience with the offworld, but I've had to repair some broken denix guns in the past.
