Okay I got my bottle today. It's a cracked one but it's a small crack that saved me $400. I can't believe I spent so much on a glass bottle but it was worth it. I'll take pics in the next few days. This thing is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Paul also mentioned he is working on a cap project for the bottle that should be coming soon.

Pics to come

The best way to finish off the bottle is with a cap from a Finlandia vodka bottle. Takes a bit of work to get the inner lining of the cap removed, and then you have to spend some time with a razor blade thinning the inside of the cap so that you get a snug but not overly tight fit on the JWB bottle. But once that's done, just epoxy the cork in place and you're good to go.

Granted mine's not cracked and I use it as a functional decanter. If you're going for just the display version, then once you get the cap fitted you're all set.

Taking pictures of a glass bottle is surprisingly difficult. Anywho here it is

Next to the other Holy Grail. I'm not sure why my Grail came out so grey looking but it looks much better in reality. If anyone wants to see it and my Indy stuff it's over on RPF here. http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=82015

This thing is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

he he ... you are in good company jameth! i use my crack-baby regularly. dare i say, alarmingly?! i fill it about half-way honestly because we rarely see the bottle more than half-full (Deckard, that lush). I have however, not paid attention in the past and filled it past the crack (v-shaped about 3/4 the way up the bottle) - and ... nothing. no leaking or anything.

i think you are ok since i have been using my cracked bottles without so much as a drop going to waste. i do also try to pour away from the crack for what its worth - but overall its been 100% utilitarian for me.

now fill it with some JWB, pour a tall one and kick back with your ultimate collector's set ... and enjoy the way that bottle changes the feel in the room. it is awesome!!!!!!

I think you might be right about the fill amount. Aside from the first time when I filled it up to Bryant full, most of the time mine hovers around the Esper level of full.

Take your bottle to a glassmakers and have them 'hot weld' the glass crack it'll cost you a bit around $60 to a $100 USD and is a bit risky as the bottle could shatter , I am fortunate to live not a million miles from the centre of one of the largest crystal manufacturing area in the world and most offer a glass repair service , I had mine done and it serves me well as a decanter of single malts - JWBL is a blended whiskey - nice but I just prefer single malt in mine !!

Also I'm not sure about the protocal but I'm assuming members want to know this. Paul mentioned that although his last uncracked bottle is gone he has several cracked ones left. Just FYI

Yeah, and what's scary is it's a bottle. Not a headpiece or an Idol, Diary, Book of secrets, Thermal detonator or any other really cool prop.

It's a bottle. A simple glass bottle like millions of others, but i love it. I just love it and I don't even drink. For me to use it it would need Ice Tea.

It's like I said about my Cross of Coronado. I did not even care about that prop. I got it because it was the only thing he goes after I did not have so I figured I would complete the collection. Working on the Ark. Now that I have my incredible RelicMaker COC I just love it.

I just love this bottle and am so glad I got it. Prop collecting is like cigarettes. Very hard to quit.

Two years smoke free. I use my smokes money for props now Very Happy
