hey gang,
i've been talking to our good buddy Andy lately and have decided at long last, to share something i otherwise thought might not be of great interest.
first off, I wish to introduce myself to propsummit (a longtime lurker - sorry!). i too am among those whose significant other just kind of "understands" that this is something we must do. as a result, i have long been scheming to create an Ennis tile inspired ... anything. for now, my humble collection has afforded me the opportunity to come up with something i feel is rather original. i am not experienced at using the photo upload function but i will give it a go - i have uploaded a number of photos, but am not sure how one might access them or where they are going though...
if you are interested, let me know and i will post more. again, i am not sure how interested folks might be.
anyway, i am a rabid fan with ambitions to one-day undertake my own version of Deck's conapt. more realistic would be to tile our den and do a Frank Lloyd Wright Ennis Tile inspired bar. i wish to share in good faith and with the hope that some of you might share your info/tips with me re: anything Ennis Tiles. your feedback, critique, etc., is much appreciated. also, if you wish to see more photos - PM me and i will be happy to provide hi-res images.
for now, my humble end tables (if i did this right). your feedback is appreciated.

that is very intresting......where did ya get the tiles?...did ya make em?...how...?what are they made from..?can you make more ...?
if that room your planning is half as classy as those end tables you should do allright to a smile at the end of a hard day... _________________ I've seen things ....you people appear to be intrested in ... |

thanks for your feedback IGNITERS. the tiles are concrete but i didnt make them. PM me for further info. yeah, they are a constant reminder of the room i wish to create one day soon.
i think we have the photos figured out (thanks Andy):
follow the links for some of the images. i kept them small so i might show more. again, i have these at much higher res.
the beginning:
low watt lights give it a theater-like feel with no other lights on:
detail:
relief shot:
overhead:
i figure this is good for a start. let me know if anyone prefer others.
thanks again for troubleshooting Andy. |

fixed your images so people don't have to link them
I just noticed that by lying on their back they look like 3D models of the fountains at the end of Logan's Run |

Is that owl ash tray in the film somewhere?
I've seen other BR collectors pick them up on ebay but haven't found it in the film yet.

speaking of owls, I just picked up some cool pewter mod owl S&Ps. I also got some cool art deco aluminum ones. I thought about making them into something else BR related. I have also seen the ashtray on Blade Zone. I am guessing it is from Photek's collection becuase the tile and boyards are also in it. |

Love the end tables. I might have to steal your design for another idea I have that is not BR related. |

thanks amish - and everyone for your feedback.
you never know how these projects look to others when you get so involved with putting them together.
as for the ashtray - i got it from one of our good Blade Runner's in France - fella by the name of Phil who sent me a spare that he picked up. i dont think its from the film, but kind of adds atmosphere. he too has this tile which is probably the one you guys saw pictured on Blade Zone. he also made the immaculate replica of the Boyards cig boxes you see sitting on the table. |

That would be him. Thank you. The Boyard box is actually a cool idea since they don't make them anymore. |

Somewhere in the vast depths of my attic lies a blue or green ashtray just like that amber owl you have.
What is Boyards? |

It's those fancy yellow cigarettes that everyone smoked in Blade Runner (& also Alien). |

You might want to ask photek about his source. Sounds like he already knows someone who makes them. I agree though I wouldn't mind a pack of these myself. |

i am checking on the packs as paper props, but i will leave that up to the creator. in the meantime, here are a few links showing more angles of the Ennis Tile end tables. enjoy.
(andy - if the links dont work again, perhaps you can give us a fix?)
