I'm always keen to see what can be done to improve on Deckard's PKD box and recently Richard Coyle very kindly sent me a surplus Worldcon magazine to add to the clutter.
I decided to make it a fictional item with no bearing on the way the magazine actually works and given that my blaster is rusted and neglected, I figured that the magazine needed to reflect the same water damage and overall wear and tear.
Regards

Wow Mark! You're really adding the details on that project. It's fun to see that you took an idea, a story of how that gun and its components should look after years of being stored in a box.
I love when people are taking the effort of creating a world around an object...you certainly succeeded in doing so with the " Gun in the Box" |

Mark,
You really are a master of getting exactly the right look and feel to these kind of builds and displays. What gets me the most is that I grew up with my family being into hunting and guns, and this captures the feel of my Grandfather's basement and gun, machine shop to the tee. Just brilliant.

I agree with Andy, your artistic skills put to use in this way really evokes the feel, and for whatever reason, for me, the smells of my fathers vintage gun gear. It brings me right back to being 10 at hunting camp.
I don't have a lot of his gear left, after he passed it got divided up by the older brothers and being 11, none of it went to me until my brother passed a few years back.
Amazing, as usual Mark. _________________ I don't have enough blasters! |

Cheers for the kind words fella's!!
I'm glad these goodies seem to hit the right buttons As you know I served many years front-line army so guns have been a BIG part of my life as well.
Its strange to read that the box evokes a kind of 'nostalgic emotion' for some of you because that's what I have tried to achieve - but I thought that only I would feel that way about it...
I'm truly delighted and grateful to you for letting me know..
Warm regards
