There's something REALLY cool currently for sale on French eBay : a complete BLADE RUNNER storyboard by Sherman Labby !!!

It's a set of photocopies printed from the originals, something like 250 pages !

I contacted the seller, he'd be OK to ship it abroad. (I also told him I was going to post his auction here, it would be cool if one of us could grab it)
BTW, I post this info here because I simply can't afford to buy something that expensive for now, nothing more nothing less. (although I think it's really worth it)

More after the jump :

Enjoy !

Fred

TFS Fred! For that price, it's still affordable and yes it's rare alright!

I've seen things.... but the price is unaffordable... (for me at least).... Good luck to bidders! It's a very and rare piece to have!

And a big thank you to Joan for pointing me in the direction of that auction (even if it's very frustrating) !

Hi everybody,
First thanks to Fred for sharing the Ebay's link.
I'm the happy owner of this storyboard and I just would like to say that all the reasonable offers are welcome ! And if you've got any question or if you need bigger pictures, don't hesitate.
I'm so happy to see how huge is the Blade Runner community…

It certainly is a fantastic item, i have the original it was taken from. To be honest when i saw this i was a bit disappointed because i was told when i bought it there were no copies being made from it. I hope no more appear !!!

Hi Ridleyville, I understand you, it is the same thing for me but Katherine Olson (on her letter) told me that no more copies will be made… I think there are 8 copies worldwide including yours (the original). I also have high quality xerox of very rare Mentor Huebner's drawings if somebody's interested… Wink

Welcome mauvaisgenres,

This is an incredible piece for sure. This is a great item for research into this film too. I had also bid on the same one that ridleyville had won many years ago IIRC. Funny thing is that the seller back then told me they would make me copies for a few hundred dollars if I wanted. I don't think it is possible to guarantee anyone that copies will never be made. Most people will make at least one copy for themself, and any new owners can copy if they wish. It is only a matter of time before it gets out into the public and copies and copies are made indiscriminately. Having an original will always be special though. It will always be of the best quality, and have a value as a screen used production item. It just will not have the extra premium of the information presented in it being held secret. As they say "information desires, and makes it's own way free". The first half of it has also been floating around for years. Of course as copies, of copies, of copies. I can beg and plead that you guys are willing to share the smallest morsels with us like a dog at the dinner table though Wink

I truly hope someday I may have a chance to obtain one of these down the road when I do have the cash to purchase it. I would also love to know more about the Mentor Huebner art too. Any way we could get a small sample to see what it is about? Very Happy

Andy

Thank you very much. I think Mentor is way under credited for helping to capture the mood for Blade Runner. I love his work, even his non-Hollywood fine art.

Thank you again.

Great drawings for sure! So cool to be able to see some of it (thanks for that Cool ).
Andy is right by saying that he's way uncredited for what he had done for the movie...his drawings ARE Blade Runner, in mood, sets...it could've been a great comic book for sure.

Thanks for sharing some of the amazing images.. I think I need to Google Mentor Huebner for some more art and I think I could see Dustin Hoffman's face in some of the images Wink
