Hope that up-date answered all your questions about the bottle Scoffman. If not please feel free to PM me.

After much pushing on my part I have been informed that I should have pictures of the completed bottle BEFORE this week-end (which is great because my week-end is completly booked with a Vampire Ball).

I'll be posting what I can when I recieve it!

PM sent...
That goes for anyone out there by the way. Questions? Please PM me.

Scoffman reminds me that the bottle prices are not in the last up-date that got sent out, so if you newly signed up you wouldn't know them.

Here are the prices for Statement Signers/American Purchases:

One bottle: $82.66
Two bottles: $165.34

At this time production is set at 100 bottles but that could change with rising interest.

Any pictures yet?

I'm dying to get mine - I think I was one of first ten to sign up.
Has anyone else in Ireland signed up?

It's good that a least one bottle is coming here, it's the spiritual home of alcohol after all Very Happy

Always more of a Scotch kind of guy...

I suspect there'll be a few pictures of wasted bottle owners in a couple of months!

Finally got some info from my bottler. It would seem they are having trouble
getting the glass to flow into the very bottom of the mold. They keep commenting
that the design is so unusual.
Here's the latest pic...I will ofcourse keep you all up-dated as info comes in.

No truly great work proceeds without some problems arising.

Of course you know if you'd gone the route of plastic the first bottle off the line would have come out flawlessly.

I'm sure they'll figure it out and then we shall drink from real glass.

Well no wonder they're having problems. . . one half of the mold is upside down!
Hopefully we'll see some more progress soon.

You know...I noticed that too Super...maybe I should have said something! Very Happy

Anyway, I have been assured by the bottler that they will fix the problem or they will refund the money.

And what will happen to the BR Whiskey Bottle Project, you might ask, if they decided to refund the money?

I have another vendor who is more expensive but definately interested!

Thanks for your support and continued patience guy's!

Well I must agree, the molds were upside down from each other, so that must have been part of the problem Smile But just out of curiousity, not knowing anything about glass casting ... (I do know how glass blowing works...) is it possible to inject molten glass into the opposite ends of the mold at the same time if they are having problems getting it to flow all the way down into the bottom of the mold? Or this gravity vs. injection molding? Done plenty of gravity metal casting, but injection molding is a whole different ball of wax...

I don't know too much about glass casting, I have seen glass blowing in person. I think the problem might be something like the glass is cooling too fast and solidifying before it gets to the bottom of the mold.

I doubt they molded it with the molds incorrectly lined up, seems like if they did that, they would have mentioned the glass getting out of the mold rather than not getting to the bottom of it.

Sweet, those look incredible!! Could it be coincidence or fate that I JUST ordered my whiskey glasses last night without having seen the later messages on here with the pics of the bottles? Or could it be BECAUSE I finally ordered the glasses that the bottles finally came out correctly? Laughing Very cool!

Looking forward to seeing the finished product!
